Have recently completed my second build of a "G" series and this one is not functioning properly. Built first rifle WAY too tight, but with shooting and wearing in is working perfectly, so thought I would "loosen" the tolerances on this one a tad. Final result is a loose magwell and not cocking on the recoil. Feeds perfectly, can be manually cycled and cocked but not on recoil, shoots great. I do have one more kit here and was wondering if maybe the recoil spring is wore out and should try the other one. Any ideas and solutions would be most welcome.

Are you saying that the bolt carrier does not go back far enough to cock the hammer?
If so, the recoil spring is not worn out.
Did you build the rifle from a flat?
If so, perhaps the rails need to be filed slightly, to allow the bolt carrier to move more freely?

Need a little more description but here's some questions:

What kind of receiver are you using?

What kind of fire control group? Double Hook or Single Hook?

If you are using a Tapco G2 FCG, do you have the sleave installed?

What are you using to retain your FCG?

Is the disconector spring installed?

How does the bolt carrier with piston minus the bolt ride on the rails?
Does it slide back and forth freely?

I think your best bet would be to take this post to the Build It Yourself Forum.

Thanks to all whom responded. Upon further inspection,  with a very small and flexible digital flashlight , discovered a dimple in the rail on the right hand side. Tough to get to but not impossible. A little careful work with Dremel and files has solved the problem and upon reading my first post, what the hell was I talking about? Definitive proof that people should be alert and "awake" when posting on forums.
