Ok, I'm confused.  I've always thought most all of the Russian 7.62x39, 5.45x39, and 223 was lacquer coated.  Then there's polymer coating that I thought I heard neg. things about.  But when I look and the local Wolf MC, it looks like bare steel!  Is that possible?  I've been buying the Monarch from Academy that I believe is similar to Brown Bear, which I'd consider "lacquer-lite".  Any clarification out there, any other confusion out there?

Lacquer, poly, it is all good in AK's!  They eat it all for breakfast.

The Uly plant in Russia (which makes Wolf MC) has recently started to switch from green lacquer to poly coating for whatever reason.  The regular Wolf Performance (black box) stuff is all poly coated and made in a different factory, Tula I believe.

Here are some pics:

I'm not sure.  I've never seen or shot it before.
