How's it going! I live in Utah, am married, have 2 kids, a dog and too much credit card debt. I was a LEO for 4 years but traded it for a desk job after the Mrs. threatened to take away all of the above (except for the credit card debt) if I didn't. I'm a big fan of ARs and AKs and believe both rifles can coexist peacefully, despite all the bashing that goes on in these forums. |

hello all, my name is Dave , I'm 35 married and have 3 kids. I run a small Orthodontic lab where we make retainers, splints, and a large array of torture devices for all of your kids. For all of you with kids in braces let me assure you that I DO NOT MAKE ALL THE MONEY, that part belongs to your Orthodontist. I've wanted a AK all of my life , and now I seem to be on a quest to own 1 of each of them. Most of my freinds and family think I am an addict and need serious help, so I seem to fit in well here.

| Hi to all. 42 years old, married, 2 kids (6 year old girl, 2 year old boy), attorney, in the AK unfriendly state of New Jersey. Believe it or not became fascinated with AK's at the age of 7 or 8 in my native Cuba when an uncle who was an officer in the Cuban military showed me his AK and how to take it apart. Didn't get to shoot it though. I don't know for sure but I assume it was a Russian AKM, wish I had a picture. Currently own an Arsenal SLR-101, SAM-7 carbine and a low cap WASR--all ban compliant of course. |

Trent here. Married 6 years. Two stepsons, 15 and 13. Moved over from the AR side out of curiosity. Now I'm hooked. Bought my first kit 6 months ago. I now have 17 kits, three complete AK's (two Polish underfolders, one SLR-105A1 R) and three kits being built as we speak. Opppp - make that 4. I was able to snag one of the SEAKS. My LLC paperwork arrived last week so I feel this is going be an expensive year

Hi all, I am Dave. I am from Jersey (You got a probelm with that?)..now in Georgia. I am Married for 7 years, with a 4 year old son. I am 35 year old Police detective. I have been a cop for 12 years and I have been in both the army and air force. I was a UH-1H/V "Huey" crew chief for most of my army career, and wish to do it again (may be in a year). I was also in security forces (MP) in the air force. I like ARs just fine, but I love those AKs!!

Barry here. I am 36, divorced, and I have an 11 year-old son. I spent 12 years active duty Army, 10 of which were with 160th SOAR. I was a flight engineer on...you guessed it, Chinooks. I returned home to PA and have been serving in the PA National Guard for the last 4 years. I am a military qualified armorer, a certified Glock Armorer, and a self proclaimed tinkerer. I got my first AK back in July; it's a Vector synthetic. That was all it took!! Now my son and I are both addicted to everything AK. i absolutely love being a part of the Dark Side! Everybody is cool on this side if the board. Thanks to all who have answered my ?'s in the past. I am sure there will be more. |

Ok 40 years old Married one child. Dedicated AR guy for the most part. No AKs as of yet, but am trying to save for my first. Really thinking it will be an Arsenal. All advice is welcome! ETA: Got my first today! Arsenal SLR 105R

I'm Chad, 33 years old, married for 11yrs. I started buying AKs as soon as I graduated H.S. My first were MAK-90s. Many have come and gone since 1991, too many to count. I regret selling all of them, especially my Tiger and the pre-89 chicoms. Only have six now, but I am steadily adding more. The latest being a Tromix converted Saiga-12.

I've been here a couple months now but still working my first build and very much a newbie to AKMs. But I'm learning fast. 44 years old. Married for 23 years. Retired Navy nuc sub and carrier mechanic. Two kids, almost grown. I served on subs in the cold war and on a carrier for Desert Storm and a few more deployments after that until I got run over going to work one night. Made me the disabled Vet I am today. Just getting back into shooting. I've always loved simple machinery. I like ease of repairability and durability better than reliability. (Next up on Oprah! Co-dependent mechanics who need their machinery to need them and the women who love them!) Heck, my only motorcycle now is a Ural sidecar rig. How's that for simple?! I tour on mine!  I have a nice Yugo SKS, AKM and five kits to build. Got a new P64 last week too. Heading to the range later this morning as a matter of fact! This is a great hobby! My thanks for all the entertainment and knowledge that gets passed along here. |

Krinkfreak here...Retired Air Force and now doing it as a DoD Contractor. I'm an avid collector of AKs but enjoy shooting all types of weapons. I also like to spend quality time teaching the fundamentals of shooting to my two sons.

OK, Here we go. 45yrs. old. Married 18 yrs, divorced for the last 5. 3 daughters. Worked doing electrical/maintenance past 20yrs. Maint. turn foreman in a steel mill now. (AK Steel) believe it or not. Have an NRA expert card in both indoor and outdoor pistol. Built an AR. Not much of a challenge. But now I enjoy building and collecting AK's. Oldest daughter in the pic with me. Hamming it up a bit. This was just after the divorce so I was trying to lighten things up a bit. Other pic is me on vacation in Smoky Mtn. Nat. Park. Picked up a really nice set of "Billy Bob" teeth down there.(No those my real dental work).

Well, this is certainly an interesting thread. so… My name is James M Wilson, alias Mike or Mikie, and I was born 14 November 1952. Laura age 23 and Michael 21 are the two kids. Sharon is my wife of twenty-seven years this February. The first photo is the author at age six. Now, ask me if I like black rifles and the same colored dogs. The second photo is the old me with my Christmas present, and my son is in the background. The next pic is my daughter. Last, the Old Lady is going to kill me! Also, I have added a few photos of my toys. Oh, BTW. I am a died in the wool Colt man. Anyway, you have heard the old saying “You can’t take it with you.” Well, I was at the funeral home two years ago when my aunt died, and I was talking to the director about my funeral arrangements. I told him when I am buried I want my Colt AR-15 on my left side and my Colt .45 holstered on my right hip with both of them loaded. “Mike you know I cannot have a loaded gun in the funereal home!” That is fine, because I will just go to the black funeral home. They ALL carry .45’s over there. A couple of months later I talked to him and he would burry me any way I wanted. Yep, I’m DAMN sure gona take two of em with me. At the very least, the democrats wont get em.         Mikie

| Mark here. 44years old, married 21 years, one son, 16, and live in central Illinois.I am a chemical worker for an international company. Been an avid collector of EBR's all my life. I'm down to 5 AR's, a couple FAL's, and finally bought my first AK, a Vector Arms under-folder. Shoulda' done this years ago. I'm HOOKED!! My son now thinks he needs to get one, to add to his collection. He currently has a Yugo SKS, an AR carbine, and a few shotguns. Started him shooting at age 4 with a cut-down Daisy Redrider. He's a good kid, but has the gun sickness like his father. We drive the wife nuts sometimes when we return from the range and have a dozen rifles spread out in the family room waiting their turn to be cleaned! Oh, well........Gotta go. I am 34, single,I live in Ohio, and relatively new to shooting, even though i have always kinda liked guns. Recent events started really bothering me and i made a decision to get a home defense weapon. First gun was a Remington 870 HD, with a Knoxx stock. I ordered the 870 thru an out of state dealer and had a mailing mixup and it took about two and a half weeks to get it. Before i recieved the 870 in the mail, i felt the need to get a carbine and did some research. I took me about a two and a half weeks to come to an informed decision of what kind of carbine to get and about another two weeks to locate someone who had one in stock. I had my Colt 6920 about a month later. The first time i went to the range with my rifle, there was a guy there with an AK. He is a member on this board. Really nice, cool guy. He mentioned, in an honest and non snobby way that he didn't like AR15's. Ak's are his thing. I said to myself that i would be sticking strictly to my colt. That was 2 and a half months ago and, starting about 3 weeks ago, i started looking at AK's. Now, these most sexy rifles are haunting and taunting me everyday, and i must have one. I gotta secure my new apartment and stuff first, but then i will starting saving for an AK. But the choices seem more plentiful than with an AR. I will be bugging you guys to get some advice on what kind and all that.(looking to spend about $600-$700 on one, and want the most accurate and dependable and reliable and the most quality for that price. Anyway, when researching the best AR, and what features to look for one for a SHTF rifle, i had already learned, at the end of 2 1/2 weeks, what i wanted in one.... and then found this site AFTER all that research. But this time i think i am gonna take the easy way and just ask you guys about the AK....... uh, maybe |

My name is Bruce...30 yrs. old...Been in LE for 7 years I currently own SR25 match(preban) suppressor paperwork in the pipeline LMT M4 10.5" with all the bnling you guys hate suppressor in the pipelineColt M4gery with M203 replica..37mm DSA Tactical sniper set up..24" fluted FF. PSG1 style furniture. and just recently (2weeks) built 5 Romy kits 1st one I cut the barrell to 12.6" and perm.attatched a 74 style brake 2nd..was a side folder with a M203 replica..37mm Last 3 were regular Romys with normal furn. Currently working on an AK102 and a 104 |

I'm Xavier. I own a convenience store in Richmond, VA. 35, married with a 6 month old baby boy. Now that I have I cannot imagine life without him. Little hector does not know it but he already has a very special AK with his name on it...just waiting for him to be old enough. I am also an AK-holic and I blame Templar for it. While i had AKs before, it was Templar who introduced me to AR15.com ad to Arsenal AKs. I have several ARs, and many other rifles, but AKs are my favorites. At last count I had 14 complete AKs and at least as many unfinished kits, thanks again Templar!!! I must admit that I sometimes visit the AR side, but soon grow tired of it |

I am a full time youth minister and love guns! I have a wsar10, Eagle Arms AR, M1 carbine several mausers, sks, a K31, Frenche 12 gage, SKB 12gauge OU, Mossberg500, Winchester 1897 pump, 1911 carry gun and several dear rifles and 22's. I love to target shoot plink and hunt, and pay guitar. Not only has my job allowed me the oppertunity to share the Gospel with a lot of young people, but allso I have been able to entroduce some teenagers to the shooting sports and educated them on how to safely use them. |
Absolutely! My kid seems to be taking after his dad. he does not care about much as long as he has his blocks ad can play with them, but when I am playing...I mean cleaning my guns in the living room (ammunition and clips safely locked elswehere, thank you very much) he drops everything and goes for the AKs, he also like my MP5-clone. Gun-safety lessons will have to be a priority. What would be a good age for these lessons? |
I started mine as soon as they can hold the weapon. Simple stuff, be aware of the muzzle,finger off the trigger,etc. Now for my older boys it is an ingrained habit. |

Since then i have bought a mossberg 12, a desert eagle, and a ruger p944. Im living with my girlfriend of 2.5 years and cant decide who i love more my guns or her......just kidding lol. |

Hello, all. Real name is Mike and I live in North Central Indiana, just a couple stone's throw from the Michigan line. (Born and raised in MI, so I'll never be a Hoosier, no matter how long I live here!!he I'm 52 and on my third wife (no one ever said I learned fast) with two grown kids (son is almost 30, daugher just turned 28) from the first marriage and a 16 year-old stepdaughter with the present wife. I've got five grandkids ranging in age from nine down to the youngest that will be two on Valentine's Day. I've been a gunowner and shooter since I was sixteen, but my first centerfire rifle was a Vector Arms underfolder AK I bought last October. Why, oh why didn't I do that before???? Looking for another AK, this time with fixed stocks and a rail for optics. Anyway I always been primarily a handgun guy. Bought by first one in 1971 (a S&W Model 14) and haven't been without one since with the current arsenal of two being the lowest count since the early '80s. Currently I own, in addition to the Vector, a Kimber Compact CDP (1st generation), a Kel-Tec P3AT, a couple of .22 rifles (Marlin 39D and a Stevens bolt-action), a Mossberg 590 and a Lyman Great Plains Rifle in .54 caliber. Too many guns (to buy) and too little time and money! |

Hello all. My name is Chris. I'm 19 years old and a college student. I'm a ROTC Cadet. I collect any and all black rifles. As of now I have a HK-91, a Colt LE6920, and a SLR-105A1R. I love to shoot and spend more money on this hobby than I do on anything else. Here are some pics of my firearms. The SLR is my only ak right now, but I'm getting either a Arsenal M7 classic underfolder or building a Polish PMKMS underfolder...still haven't decided yet. The SLR is getting a AK-100 sidefold stock as soon as it gets here. The Colt AR-15 in the picture is actually a LE6520 I traded for the LE6920. I miss the lightweight barrel but I love the A3 upper (don't flame me...I'm a fan of all that goes boom and pisses off liberals) ETA: Sorry I dont' have any pics of me on this laptop...just my guns...

It is not meant to be a disguise with the members here. With my job, and the fact that I am getting a little more involved in local politics, I thought it should be a little harder to identify who I am to outside people. It seemed just a little too easy for a political opponent to say "a member of so-and-so's staff is a gun extremist", and cause a bit of an image problem. The name change lets me post more freely. BTW, the PPE took me a minute. In my line of work, PPE is Property, Plant & Equipment. |

This pic was taken after my father in law's funeral. I work at the local gunshop here in Columbus and I teach quickfire part time. Other than that, I'm getting back into weapons after having to get rid of them when I moved to Italy 7 years ago with the military. I'm working on paying off a SOCOM 16, after which I plan to start collecting a couple AKs |
