I finally got my underfolder done. The trigger pin kept walking out. I was looking though the Tapco catalog and found out there is a spring that holds them from coming out. So I ordered one, now I dont know how to install it, could some generous heart help me out. (pics if possible) Thanks Z |
Basically, the loop end of the spring goes around the groove in the left side of the hammer pin and the other end goes UNDER the same groove in the trigger pin. It's kind of a pain to get in. There are a few different shapes, some easier than others. Wat shape is yours? |

I did use E-clips, The ones I have arent quite the right size, so I wanted to use the right part. I tried to put the damn thing in but I could not get it to fit. It kind of has a weird shape to the retainer, theres a loop on one end that goes into a long arch. Maybe Ill just stay with the E-clips. Thanks Z |

To use e-clips, just squeeze the 7/16" size closed a little bit and USE TWO on each pin. The extra thickness makes sure that the pin simply will not move. I have never had a single issue with mine. I can't help you with the retainer question because I threw all of mine out a while ago and replaced them with clips. _Disconnector_ |

You must be talking about the "Shepard Hook". Here is a link for instalation Shepard Hook Instalation |
For those retaining springs that you get from tapco, I had to use method 3. I couldn't see how they would of fit any of the other ways. |

I think I know the spring you are talking about. It looks like a D laying on it's side that got hit by a hammer a lot right? I had one of those and I looped the loop end over the hammer pin and then I used a screwdriver and pushed real hard in it to get the loop under the trigger pin. It ended up permanently deformed but it holds it fine and subsequent removals and installations were MUCH easier. |
