How on earth do you compress that big spring to get it back the way it is supposed to be?

I slipped taking it off and the spring and lock bolt zapped me in the face.  Owww.

On that note, how do you replace that clip and lock bolt?

Are you talking about the recoil spring?
If so, the way I compress it is to push the rear of the assembly into my chest and use both hands to pull the spring back. Once the spring is far enough back I hold it in place with my left hand and put the retainer back on with my right hand.

How do you get that lock bolt on at the end?  Are you pulling the spring back on the rod, then putting the little wire clip thru the end of the rod, then the lock bolt?

For the life of me my recoil spring is STRONG.  It is tearing the hell out of my thumbs :/

EDIT: I am retarded, I thought I was in an AK forum, just realized I was in the VZ forum. I am sorry, I do not own a VZ, can't help you.

Well that's just redundant.

I had to because I replaced the dust cover with a railed dust cover and had to put the springs on the new one :)
