| First time out with newly built romy g kit. Pull back bolt to load and loads fine, fires on round perfectly and ejects shell but bolt stays held open???? Slightly push bolt downward(toward the ground) and it slides forward and loads another round just fine. Fire another round perfectly and ejects shell perfectly but again remains stuck/locked open, you get the picture. It appears that the bolt is actually turned a slight bit which is having it get stuck on something?????? Can't really see what is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ohio Ordinance receiver if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance. |

Build it yourself? Is it a professional build? Does the bolt go forward by itself with hand cycling? Binding with the receiver? Is the bolt carrier popping out at the rear of the rails where you insert it into the receiver. Fire with one round in the mag and take the receiver cover off and observe if it is. If so you may need to install a recoil buffer to prevent the bolt carrier from hanging up. gunsgutsandgod.com/boltcarrierissue.htm |
| My build, not professional. I tried the recoil buffer but it wouldn't allow the bolt to go back far enough to "cock the hammer" It would fire and eject just fine with the recoil buffer but would not go far enough back to reload a round and reset the hammer. Perhaps it is coming out of the receiver rail in the back, need to check. Thanks for your imput |
| Thanks for all the comments and help. I looked at it last night and in fact the right side of the bolt was coming out of the receiver and hanging up on the small indention on the receiver as it was trying to move back forward. I installed a recoil buffer and it appears to have solved the problem as the bolt no longer goes as far back to be able to exit the receiver. My question now is was this happening? I've never heard of others complaining about this before? Is this something I need to be concerned about? Did I mount the front trunion/barrel too far forward on the receiver? But headspacing is fine. What gives? |

Mak, I didn't see your link until after I posted my last message. Thank you very much for the info. that really clears things up a lot. I used an Ohio Ordinance 100% receiver and didn't alter the cutouts at all. But I'm glad to know why the problem is occurring. Now I can enjoy shooting it without worrying that something is truly wrong with the build. Thanks again for the your help. |
