I had to step away from high power a few years ago when our youngest was born and life got really busy. Now that things are calming down, I want to get back into it and I’m trying to figure out if my 3 gun rifle would be service rifle legal. I think it is, but I’d like to double check. The FF tube is the only part I’m not completely sure about. It’s a Nordic Components NC 1. This isn’t my rifle, but here’s a pic for reference. |

Need a full length rail piece on top (can have gap where delta ring would be), and atleast half length rails at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock.
Sling swivel must be 8" or 13" (+/- 0.5"), from the magwell. |

| If I were you, I'd shoot what you have first. It would at most push you into a match rifle category instead of service rifle due to float tube appearance. Bigger question with your current float tube is whether you can attach a sling swivel to it or not. Difficult to shoot sitting and prone well sans a tight sling position (and a shooting coat and glove). You may also find that the current 3gun scope mount may not have the scope out in front enough when you get down in a tight prone position with sling. Most of the scope mounts for HP run another 1" offset compared to the usual mounts. Show up and shoot a couple matches then modify or build a dedicated A4 upper for this game. BTW, your trigger will have to make 4.5 lb weight for service rifle. No trigger weight requirement on match rifle. No one would care at a monthly practice match though. |
