Three FREE full lessons from the Gracie Combatives 2.0 program. This stuff is gold. Lots of people think they know these techniques...but their knowledge is more shallow than they imagine. These videos have the masters showing every detail: Lesson 1: Trap and Roll https://youtu.be/pHB553YG6co?si=8he2b72FN7q5jGJU Lesson 2: Americana Arm Lock https://youtu.be/XaGK4aYox3g?si=9e-Xw56_3Bc0RPNB Lesson 3: Mount Position https://youtu.be/HruAUe79bqY?si=7ocMfPF0eGn9b2ta With 1-to-5 million people practicing BJJ in the US and many more worldwide I don't know how these videos don't have millions of views. |

I'll pass along a little advice. I attend roughly 7h a week in class and open mat time, I consume probably as much digital instruction. Unless you have a basic grasp of how to do a majority of this, watching the videos is not helpful. The majority of independent learning starts happening at purple. |

So the question is have you actually ever looked at the Gracie Combatives instructional series (1 or 2.0?) |

Until you have a base line understanding of what you're doing, knowing what to do is meaningless. We'll have WBs come in who have been watching UFC and instructionals for years and finally decide to give it a go, they can name all the positions and submissions. It does them no good, except they can tell you what all the kids are submitting them with. Go take class for a few years, THEN start in with the instructionals. You'll actually benefit from them. |

So that isn't my experience at all. I don't have a belt at anything and almost tapped a purple belt instructor with Lesson 2 & 3 techniques I learned in the Combatives 1.0 videos plus perhaps a year of training one day a week. Perhaps being big, strong, and fit helped me. But perhaps it was expertise in the fundamentals? During a Guard exercise we had some JROTC teens out playing red team in a shelter scenario. One of the teens (who happened to be on the high school wrestling team), took his role pretty seriously and jumped one of our sergeants (former LEO). LEO techniques failed the sergeant quickly, and it was getting ugly for the sergeant until I jumped in. I quickly got a rear mount and started sinking in a choke ... but the controllers ended the exercise before things got that far. Kid shook my hand afterward and complemented how solidly I beat him. He wasn't the only wrestler I've beat over the years. |

Make sure you tell them you can tap purple belts. So the truth is there is a BJJ group in Australia who had no access to proper instruction and used the Gracie Combatives videos to learn the fundamentals. |
