A friend sent me a link to this website. It’s a wireless battery powered moving target. https://www.dynamicrangex1.com/ It looks interesting, especially for the price. There’s just not a lot about it or the company I could find online. Has anyone seen this in person or have one? I searched here and didn’t find any posts. |

Don't have one, but likely will have one soon :) I like the concept. Have jury rigged similar over the years with light cables, rollers and angles. But they are always a PITA to set up and don't always work well. Best ones I jury rigged were released when a popper was dropped (pulling a cotter pin releasing the mover). One use then have to reset it all being the biggest PITA. This looks cool, will check it out more, thank you for posting it! |

We may have talked via email- I know the kit comes with 550 cord but have you all tested it on a thin aircraft cable for a more permanent set up? Said a range had two or three areas to use your mover at, that already had a cable set up for each area- how easy would it be to move the target system from one to another? |

Yes, that was me. I remember the email exchange. I tested it out today using a 1/8-inch stainless steel cable wire. It worked without any issues. Getting the cable tight was a little tricky. I ended up ripping the anchor point out of the tree trying to get the cable tight using a tractor. But I remember you saying you planned on using a come along which is definitely a better idea. I think of using a turn buckle or come along, something of that nature. Will likely use some cut telephone poles for the anchor points to run cable from, at least on one application. |

Make sure the area you are using the moving target over has NO high grass at all. Ours hung up several times on high grass that was previously stomped down. We are going to raise the cable from approximately 5 foot to about six foot height. Testing the range of the controller to the unit, we got a little over 225 yards max. This was the "400 meter" model we purchased, not the original one. I was standing on a slight hill top and my son held the unit first at 300 yards and then he kept moving forward till the unit activated finally at about 225 yards. Holding the unit over his head and me holding the controller above my head trying to get a little more range. Absolutely positively line of sight between the two. Be sure to use the safety carabiner if using the unit on 1/8 aircraft cable. We played with various levels of tension on the cable trying to find the right tension. The safety carabiner saved the unit one time it fell off the cable. At 100 yards the controls seem slow- push the +5 forward and.......................... then it starts moving. Once it's started adding more changes (+5, -10, etc.) seemed to keep it in motion. But initial get the unit moving seemed fairly slow. If using it for any scenario/gaming type thing I would have the unit start behind a fence panel or something, giving it a yard or so to pick up speed before "appearing." All in all, a great unit. Will try it again at farther distances as well, but both unit and controller batteries were new and only used for a short period of time. |
