In my way-back years I studied traditional Hapkido and really enjoyed.
That was long ago and far away, and I've recently been thinking about getting back into some form of training.
I am mostly interested in having something to DO, to get me active, but a little practical self-defense work would be nice to have as well.
I live less than an hour north of Little Rock, and I know there are some good BJJ/MMA clubs there, but I would prefer something a little closer to home.
The problem being that outside of major metropolitan areas, pretty much all you'll find in Arkansas is TKD, which is not for me.

But in Cabot, there is a school affiliated with Pelligrini's Combat Hapkido, and I don't know much about it.  I'm not looking for MMA style fighting, but some punching, kicking and throwing would probably do this old body some good...

My son and I take it here in North Carolina.
A Pellegrini  affiliated school.

I find it to be very similar to the the Japanese based jujitsu I took in the past.

A lot of joint locks.  A few throws.  Very little kicking or offensive moves.

I find it to be purely self defense.  I am a part time LEO and find it useful if I have to put hands on
people, or if they put them on you.

More of a technical workout.  Very few times have I walked out of there needing a shower.
