Instructor: Green Ops Staff Date: 11/01/2026 Location: Culpeper, VA Duration: 8 Hours / 1 Day Rifle: AR-15 Platform Optic: Holosun 410 Sling/Light: 2-Point Sling & Weapon Light Gear: Low-Profile Belt Rig Ammo: Approx. 400 Rounds of 5.56 Course Overview Having taken Level I, I wanted to bridge the gap between static marksmanship and dynamic application. Green Ops’ "competition meets tactical" approach completely delivered. The course structure included: Fundamentals: Verification of zeros and height-over-bore (mechanical offset) at close distances. Movement: Shooting while moving forward, backward, and laterally. Barricades: Utilizing cover from unconventional positions like urban prone and braced kneeling. Transitions: Efficiently driving the red dot between multiple targets at varying depths. Manipulations: Reloads and malfunctions under the strict pressure of a shot timer. My Experience The instructors are incredibly sharp—they don't just watch the line, they actively dissect your mechanics. For me, shooting on the move and working the barricades were the most physically demanding challenges. While shooting from urban prone, my rifle was tracking wildly off-target. An instructor stepped in with a game-changing "ah-ha" moment regarding my recoil control: he had me lock my C-clamp further forward on the handguard, pull the stock laterally into my collarbone structure, and drive my hips firmly into the ground. The fix was instant—my tracking smoothed out, groups tightened, and split times dropped. Safety was paramount, but the vibe remained approachable and highly educational. Final Thoughts If you want to move past flat-range comfort zones and learn to actually fight with your AR, Green Ops DC-II is a must. It forces you to face your deficiencies and leaves you with an actionable, realistic training roadmap. Highly recommended! |
