Or do you have a gun but aren’t entirely comfortable using it? Maybe you just want to be a better shooter. For all of the above, this is the class for you. In 8 hours, we will cover everything you need to be safe and capable with a handgun. In addition, we will cover legal aspects related to owning, carrying and using a gun, how to resolve various malfunctions, and test your skills with some competitions. Topics include: •How handguns work •Safe handling and operation of a pistol •Loading and unloading •The importance of posture, sight alignment, grip and trigger control •Understanding point of aim vs. point of impact •Shooting drills to get you comfortable firing a pistol •Why red dots are better than iron sights •Getting back in the fight when a malfunction occurs •How to reload appropriately and safely •Self-defense mindset •Lively competitions to stress your newly acquired skills •Data and metrics that you can take to the range and practice Necessary Equipment: - Pistol chambered in .380 or larger - At least 2 magazines - Magazine pouch - OWB or IWB holster - Eye and ear protection - Ammunition (200+ rounds) - Weather appropriate clothing and gear - Sunscreen - Food and hydration needs Recommended Equipment: -Sunscreen -Long pants -The sturdiest belt you have -Bug spray -Speed loader -Hat -Notebook & pen -It is nearly guaranteed to be sunny but we shoot rain or shine so come prepared for anything.
