While best known for precision scope mounts and precision shooting accessories, ZRODELTA released the Venator Series Rifles recently in both AR15 and AR10 chassis. The 6.5 Creedmoor features a 22-inch PROOF Carbon Fiber Barrel, Ambi Controls, TriggerTech Trigger, MagPul Gen3 PRS Stockand Lancer CF Rail - weighing in at just over 8-pounds, the rifle boasts a 1/2 MOA Accuracy Guarantee and Limited Lifetime Warranty; making it one of the lightest Creedmoors on the market and the only AR rifle in the industry to ship with a 1/2 MOA Guarantee. The rifle is expected to ship this fall with a price tag of $4,299 The Venator Series is also available in 6.5 Grendel and .224 Valkyrie in the $3,500 price range. And yea pretty impressive they are guaranting that kind of accuracy.. wonder how they can guarantee that when you have most Consumers like myself that like to pull about every third or fourth shot, and am lucky to shoot 1moa on a good day

Eta I see the rail brand now It's a pretty gun, but over $4K? That's JP Territory, and it's not exactly a high-volume market segment. I'm all about "The More the Merrier", though. FWIW, my LaRues will shoot 1/2 MOA as they came from the factory, with factory FGMM (and just as well with some hotter hand loads), and they don't cost anywhere near $4k. |
| That's a Lancer Handgaurd. Pretty stout actually for being carbon fiber. And I totally understand about the cost side. If you're pulling shots though, you should try taking one of the precision shooting schools. You'll be amazed at what a day or two of professional instruction will do for you. |
| You're right about that. Most people aren't capable of shooting 1/2 MOA. The idea here is to provide the platform for people who don't want to built it on their own, and then offer it for sale in parts where a guy can build it piece by piece or swapping out certain components. And you're also right that's its JP territory - I made my living in that area. And I've shot may LaRue rifles that we're incredibly accurate - they also weigh about 2 pounds more than this rifle. A steel barrel version would be considerably less. The PROOF CF barrels drive the cost up. It just depends on how much you want to lug around I guess. |

Great question. A rifle must function as it's designed in order to have a valid test result published. Our tests are from the magazine. That said, we have found Lancer Mags to be the most "accurate." In fact, a few years ago I tested several AR10 mags to find the most accurate. I found PMAG to be the most inaccurate. We had super slow motion cameras film the rounds as they fed from the mag and cycled into the chamber, On some mags the rounds literally looked like the General Lee jumping a bridge from Dukes. Anyway, 5 rounds, fed from the mags. Ammo - We've been very impressed by the Hornaday ELD Match and ELDX Hunting Match rounds right out of the box. |
