I’m about to start swapping barrels on  one of my origin actions.

I was thinking it might be easier to remove / remount scope this way.

30 mm tube

Or am I overthinking it just stick with rings?

I only use them if my scope rail doesn’t have any inclination and I need some.

If that’s not the case then I get a good set of rings like those from American Rifle Company.

LaRue 719 30 mm rings

La Rue LT 111  one piece ringmount

It’s easier to recommend something if we have a clue what type of rifle this is .  “One of my original actions “ doesn’t give me much to go on.  I’m guessing it’s a bolt action but there are semi auto precision rifles these days.

As stated above, if you need additional moa a one piece is great. If not, quality scope rings work fine. May not be perfect return to zero or it may be. Either way you need to shoot to confirm.

Yes sir gonna spin the barrel of my proof mtr after hunting season.

Most likly put it in a chasi.

Add a 6.5 creed and 6 br barrel for some versatility at distance.

So i will have something besides my 223 to take shooting long range.
I won’t take the 223 apart until that barrel is dead. I love this gun it doesn’t get down time.

Roger that.

I shouldn’t need extra moa. Im going to use same scope i have on my 223 and it made it to 1275 so i should be good.

I will confirm the mtr has a 20 moa base before buying.

Just wanted others opinions since this one will come off and on semi regularly.

If you want a one piece mount, I would look at the ARC or MPA.

Now you can go with a two piece ring set, with max budget, I would go ARC. For the budget friendly, I would look at MDT.

I have, and use, MPA, NF, ZCO, and a Spuhr.

I like the NF to keep Gas guns lighter.  The ZCO and Spuhr are among the best mounts made, and the MPA is Awesome for the money.

I have friends that use Area 419 and Hawkins, which they like alot.
A real 1 MOA All Day shooter.

I still use the first gen MPA I bought back in 2018, see zero reason to change it, it has performed flawlessly holding a heavy ass gen 2 razor 4.5x27x56 on a 300rum.....I wouldn't hesitate to run their mount on other stuff, same as area 419 and Arc mounts.....

Yea truth is after all this research ive determined several great mounts its more a feature preference thing now.

I need to quit procrastinating and buy a scope so i know what ring size i need.
Idk why it’s so hard for me to hit the buy button on the gen 3 razor im sure ill
Love it.

I would run a gen 3 razor, zero issues with the gen2, been a great scope and much cheaper than equal quality scopes...It has passed every test given including dead nuts on tall/box target test.. I would gladly swap it for a gen3 if I had spare money to do it....
