A few weeks ago I bought a Savage 10 FCP McMillian. Over the last couple of days I have been reading over the owners manual learning how to do simple basic maintenance, ie removing the receiver from the stock, adjusting the accutrigger. What I am having trouble with is disassembling the bolt. I have watched a few videos on you tube, all seem to be fairly simple straight forward instructions, the first being to remove the Allen screw ( or flat tip in the older models). My problem is that no matter how hard I turn on the Allen screw it will not come loose. I would guess that some type of lock tight is used at the factory. I have sprayed the screw with some penetrating oil and am currently letting it soak in over night and see if that loosens it. Has anyone else had this problem and have a solution to it? Thanks in advance for the help. |
