One of those designs that was ahead of its time Will add images of the stripped down carbine later, with a heavy fluted stainless barrel: as I'll be working on it during the next few months. |

OK, here is the last installment for about 6 months or so... I will be going back to a new Manners then, so there will be at least 1 more change. Swapped the PST for the Razor, and finally got the can out of jail. This thing is a complete hammer, and helped me pound out a 3rd place overall finish in my match on Saturday. It was nice to score 6 straight 1st shot hits to 800, and I absolutely love the 105's out the business end of things!!

I thought I had posted in this thread, but a somewhat sarcastic PM requested I do so...If its buried in here somewhere already, I apologize..
This is an old photo, I will try to get one of the current setup tomorrow. Here, it wore a cut and rechambered PSS barrel at 17.5" and a Vortex HS-T in NF UL Rings...In current guise, it has an 20" 8 twist Benchmark in 243 Ackley, cut for 105 Berger Hybrids, and a Burris XTR II 5-25 in Talley 34s. Timney flat trigger, Larue 20MOA base and a McRee chassis. A Silencerco Harvester is currently in the wings, ATF has already cashed the check. Its a pretty basic, fairly cheap build. I am still somewhat early in the lad development process, but initial workup has yielded roughly .475" five shot 100yd groups. Initial loads with a conservative dose of H1000 is giving me right at 3000fps with the 105s and short barrel. I have had it out to 1100yds so far, and it seems to do what I wanted it to do. I look forward to further load development this spring, hopefully getting my velocities up.

This is my beater / truck / critter killing rig. Like my 243, this one has gone through a few changes since this photo, but nothing extreme.
CZ527 Varmint Kevlar, punched out to 223 Ackley. In this photo, it has a Leupold Mark AR 4-12 in CZ rings, it now has a Mark AR 3-9 in Burris Zee rings, mounted to a DIP pic rail. Other than that, its pretty much as you see it. It really likes 53 Vmax, and with Benchmark I am shoving them about 3510fps. The OEM HS Stock has been bedded, but other than that, its largely as issued. This one is just plain fun. I have had it, with 69SMKs, out to 700...

My budget "precision" rifle. Nothing special but it does 1/4" groups despite me being behind the gun
Tikka 595 Master Sporter .308 - $600 Leupold Mk4 lr/t mildot - $890 Thinking about converting the gun to take AI mags, seeing as they're about the same price, come in 10rd flavors, and are more common Sorry for crappy quality pics. Only camera I own is my phone.

^ Beautiful setup.
This one isn't much, but it's mine. 
Future plans: 1. Cut the barrel back to ~24" and add a brake. I want to do this to reduce recoil, protect the muzzle, and I like the look. Any recommendations on a good brake or a good vendor to do the work? Adding a supressor in a couple of years isn't out of the question. 2. Larger bolt knob. Better leverage on working the bolt. Looks better sometimes too. 3. Detachable mag. Top loading sucks. I'm pretty clueless on this and am not sure how much work it would be to add that to this HS Precision stock. I'd also love recommendations. 4. Trigger. This one isn't too bad honestly, but I don't have a lot of experience with triggers. |

Since the first two days of spring here have brought another 5" of snow, I figured the best way to remain calm was to start getting my rig ready for the new shooting season. Definitely took my mind off of the outside disaster.
Rifle is a factory Surgeon Scalpel in .308. -18.5" Krieger barrel. -SF muzzle brake with SF 7.62SS suppressor. -barrel, action and scope ring screws cerakoted in burnt bronze. Rings in sniper black. -rare Surgeon tri-rail system and even more rare factory 34mm rings with built in bubble level -ACi angle indicator -S&B PII 5-25 MRAD with P4F reticle and cattail -LT offset mount for Aimpoint T-1 -Manners T5A stock with KMW logger head adjustable cheek rest. Replaced the allen adjustment with a custom lo-pro knob that works great -Harris bipod hydro dipped in MC with KMW pod-loc and Phoenix claw feet. -KAC i-touch mount. Gen I i-touch is loaded with KAC Bulletflight military version ballistic software. Acts like your dope sheet for every rifle you own and enter into it. Since it has Wi-Fi and my range has outdoor Wi-Fi, you can also order pizza online and have it delivered to the range which I am going to presume you CANNOT do with your dope sheet.

started life as Remington 700 Sendero 300 RUM... the action and barrel were cryo treated with the brake installed at JP back when he still did that stuff (c.y. 2002). Jewell trigger, Swarovski 3 -18 with ballistic turrets cal'd to 200 grain Barnes LRX hand loads.. yes - it is a barrel burner but shooting it less than 5 times/year, I figure i have a ways to go...
my last bolt gun: GAP built 260 rem, Surgeon action, 26" bartlein barrel with SF brake, Premier heritage 5 -25 scope. The stock is a KMW. 
The top rifle is a box stock FN with a S-B 4 -16 it is what makes the most trips to the range...

I put this together over the Winter for use as a NRA mid-range (300 / 600) match rifle. If I get froggy I may stretch it to 1000 if I can get the necessary velocity out of it. I'll be throwing 80 Berger VLD's. Began life as a 700 SPS Tactical in 223 that was a real shooter but couldn't handle anything heavier than 69's. Trued the receiver with a Manson kit and lapped the bolt lugs. Criterion Rem/Age 26" heavy varmint 1:8 with 223 match chamber and 11° crown. Turned the first two inches to 0.750 dia for front sight. Bell & Carlson light tactical stock to which I added an Anschutz rail in the forend and a Tubbs 4 way butt plate assy. LOP all the way in is right at 12". Rifle Basix trigger. Don't exactly remember which model (been a few years). It is light... I'd like to put a 2 stage in it. Extreme, etc. Front sight is a RightSight 30 mm with a .5 diopter lens and 4 - 6 mm aperture Rear is a Warner #1 with Gehman 510 iris. Also has an EGW 20 minute base so I can stick a scope on it and shoot Any/Any with sling or F Class with a bi-pod. When in that configuration I have a 36X Weaver and or a 4.5-14 x 40 Leupold for it. I still need to buy a Centra/MEC hand stop. Undecided whether I want to mill the receiver for a clip slot or go mag fed. I really don't want to modify the feed rails. But if I do then I can shoot it XTC...   |

 GAP built 6 digit receiver with a 20in Krieger in .308. Had my smith thread it and I put it in a KRG chassis. much sexy. Heavy pig through. I'll probably rebarrel in a few years for a 6.5 flavor. |

It was new in at the shop, and he gave me a good deal to give him some feedback. Honestly I would say it compares to the mid range Vortex series good clarity, but not a 1500 optic tho. |
