- Selling left nut for a Wilcox NF T1/MRDS mount.
Grad school build. -Hope to buy better rings and DBM sometime.... Maybe if or when I graduate. Still need a bipod mount and sling swivel for sling. I guess I could dump the Turner Saddlery National Match 1907 but I still prefer using them.... |

FINALLY able to post my completed gun. Started last September, with hopes of using it to go hunting and I just couldn't get it done in time. Got the rings in today (after a 10 day delay, thanks Amazon) and mounted the optic. I used a questionable leveling method, and while it looks right I may still end up buying an actual scope level after all. 308 Howa 1500, heavy fluted barreled receiver

So after finally getting my rings in, and the scope level and secured I was FINALLY able to actually go shoot this bad boy. Been in the works since last September. The range I had access too today is only 112yards so I zeroed it at 100. I bore sighted it, and was able to figure out how to adjust my turrets to get myself in the right ballpark (first shot didn't even hit the target lol) Don't be to hard, this is my first time sighting in a scope and using a Mil Dot recital and I am still learning the basics. 
Tried to get a phone pic through it, but it wasn't that great. The RO was going crazy about this optic though, he loved it. 
I picked up some really cheap 308 just to get my optic close, as I didn't want to be shooting gold match for my first shots that I knew were going to be bad. I took these and they don't show the random single shots that were all over the target before I was able to bore sight it correctly. Once I had the bore sight down I started making the adjustments. Group 1 was me holding on the dead center of the head. It was two mils off. To check that I was right (and not just shooting poorly) I held 2 mils left and fired group number 2. 
So now that I figured out what ballpark I was in, I adjusted it further to center my crosshairs and proceeded to shoot group number 3. After seeing that I was low and to the right, I adjusted again and fired group 4. I only shot 4 rounds in each just because I only had a couple boxes with me. 
Not MOA, but considering I was using 150gr Tula I'm happy. I at least know I really enjoy it, and love the gun I built. Click To View Spoiler |
