I decided to give RL17 a try with some 200gr accubonds in a 23" TL3. I started at 48 grains which averaged 2633fps but had good accuracy at 1moa, then worked up to 49.8 grains which netted me an average of 2761fps (5rd avg) and .58", thats 3300ft lbs at the muzzle from a 308 Win! I am using CCI 450s and Starline Match SRP brass. No pressure and still below max but approaching 97% case fill. My last.load to test is 50.1 grains but its pouring rain now and I cannot see the target well enough. These are seated at 2.885" OAL so not useable in a semi auto, bolt action only. I may give them a try in some alpha brass to see if the results hold up across brass brands. This is my first loads of any kind using RL17, recoil is stout.Attached File |

The neck stretched a smidge but no ejector marks and the base was only .03 expanded. I could still work the bolt with ease. I suspect its a combo of the stout TL3 action, the hard cci primers and the thicker srp brass. Either was I am not going to use this load. I plan to drop back to the other accuracy node which was at 2695fps |
