| Well I picked up a new gen 3 today and already returned it. Barrel was not center on the receiver. Luckily I was able to return it with no hassel. It wasn't the first one of the current gen 3 that the store had accepted back. This is the first time I have ever had an issue with a Ruger product. |

| How was it going from the RPR stock to a PRS? I've got a 6.5 and a .338 LM. While I don't have any issues at all with the original stock, I've been thinking about switching it out for the PRS. However, the PRS would add approximately an inch to the LOP for me at its shortest. For me that would be stretching it. |

Alright folks, I'm very seriously considering picking an RPR up. My plan is getting This one and slapping a Vudu 5-25 on it in a quality mount or rings. I wont be shooting matches or anything, but there is a strong possibility this rifle would be used for work (SWAT). I see that the Brits are using them in this way, but I want to hear from the folks who own me and have a bunch of trigger time on them. What do y'all think? |

I am seeing the 6mm CM's for ~$900. If I was buying it for me I would pick that up and pick up a match barrel in the caliber I wanted and swap it out. I would sell the 6mm barrel to recoup some of the money. Swapping the barrel is pretty simple but IDK what your department would say about that. |

I think it’s a fantastic rifle at the price point. Mine shoots amazing, and I’m not a bolt guy. Sub .5” groups are not that challenging. |

| Given the concerns with weight, are there any go-to solutions for making this pig lighter? I haven't the chance to really shoot mine, other than from static positions, so the weight hasn't been an issue. At some point, when I'm confident enough, I'd like to shoot a PRS-style match with it. If I could get away with using the RPR, with a few tweaks to make it more manageable, I'd prefer to go that route. Dropping money on another rifle just for an occasional match seems a little foolish. How much weight can one save, realistically, with a swap of the hardware, and barrel? |

I did a tracking test today and it's definitely tracking right. I confirmed scope level when I got home Scope is a Vortex Viper PST 6/24x50 FFP Test shot at 100yards, went up 8MOA each shot starting at 100yard zero. The line on the test was leveled using my phone since I forgot the level at home. Could their be a problem with the scope? I am not sure how much the scopes bubble level plays into it since I am not of a skill level to be able to pay attention to it and all the other fundamentals of long range.

Maybe this has been covered already, 86 pages and all.
I have had a couple end cap strikes with RPR with a Dead Air Sandman L. Spoke to Dead Air about it today. The rep said its probably because im shooting subsonic rounds. that they dont stabilize in the 1/10 barrel. Is there anyone making a 1/7 barrel? Also what ammo are you shooting in your suppressed .308? |

A co-worker and I both bought Gen 3s a couple weeks ago at a big sale our local BX was having. His a 6.5CM and mine a 308. Both had loose handguards and mis-timed comps. My comp was not only mis-timed but loose and easily movable by hand. I fixed my issues and have been finishing up customizing the rifle the past couple weeks before firing. I’m hoping no other issues arise, especially accuracy issues.

Today I pulled my rifle out of the safe after not shooting it at all this year. First shot...nothing, pulled the round, no firing pin strike at all...tried 4 more rounds, still nothing, none of the primers had any marking or indentation whatsoever. I figured the firing pin was gummed up or something so I took the bolt apart and found this little chunk come out when I took the 'shroud' off. Looks like it is one of the cocking cams. How did it happen? The rifle has MAYBE 150 rounds through it, all factory Hornady ammo. No overcharged reloads or anything. And how do I replace the part? Is this something I'll have to send to Ruger? Looks like it is called the ‘firing pin back’. Attached File
