Why not? If you have pictures of your ghille suits, hides, anything concerning field craft, post them here! I have a few and will be posting. Even if it's just out in the field military sniper, LEO marksman or anything related. Let's see yours!

What are the specs on your optic? Is that a dedicated NV scope? How do you like that compared to a clip on? |

I'd imagine trained observers would have little trouble spotting them. |

What are the specs on your optic? Is that a dedicated NV scope? How do you like that compared to a clip on? It's a PVS 10 day/night optic. I didn't care for it. I liked using my day optic. The PVS 10 worked well and had a mil reticule in it, it was just too tall. It's what we used before the PVS 22 & 24 or the PAS 13. We would shoot moving targets out to 600 with it and it was nice and clear but like I said, just a bit on the tall side for what it was. |

I'd imagine trained observers would have little trouble spotting them. Yeah I notice that too. You'll have someone all ghille'd up, can't really see them but there's this big, black rifle just sitting there. lol You're right about the end of the scope being a give away. It's easy to spot, especially when you're doing a stalk with spotters sitting in the middle looking for you. That scope will really stand out. People that haven't been to school will call it a day with a kill flash but they forget about the round shape that really stands out. |

People that haven't been to school will call it a day with a kill flash but they forget about the round shape that really stands out. I figured it out hunting ground hogs with a rimfire. I tied some non reflective cotton mesh around the bell of the scope then run some fishing line down the barrel channel and tied the mesh to that so it tented down from the scope to the barrel. My success went way up. the best way to test your camo is to go out into the woods and see how close game will get to you. Well outside stalking trained observers. I have had turkeys so close I could have reached out and grabbed one. Ground squirrels eating nuts on my leg or boot etc. If you can fool a turkey you can fool a man. |

First off this is bad ass! Never went to sniper school so I have a question about the objective scetch. I am figuring its similar to the sector scetch for an emplaced weapon ( ranges, elevations, landmarks, etc) but what other data would you throw into them?

View Quote Do you mean drawing a 3D type sketch of the objective? That's the only thing I can think of other than a sector sketch or a range card. |

Guns, nice photos. That area's gorgeous. The ghillie looks like a great base to work with for that area.
