Not nearly enough information, so not sure what feedback you’re wanting. I’m guessing you want to know if you got a good deal?? Stocks vary based on condition/model, so no clue what the value is. The 6creedmoor is a good cartridge, but can burn out barrels fast (1550-1800rds is a good estimate). You may have a shooter, but you may need a new barrel in the next month if it was used and didn’t have an accurate log book) |

You have someone's dream precision rifle from 25 years ago. Everything, except being chambered in 6 Creed, was on everyone's dream sheet in the early 2000s. If the barrel has life left in it, you could definitely learn the ropes of PRS with a heavy 6 Creed. As you progress in the sport, you're going to find the system lacking for PRS. I doubt the McM has Arca rails, is it flat bottomed? Does it use detachable magazines? How is the length of pull? Most of us have learned to center up the rifle, instead of using the shoulder pocket, which requires a shorter LOP. Ive never been a big fan of Jewell triggers because I have had them fail in the field. Anyway, let's see it. |
| whether the rifle is suitable to PRS or any other purpose is separate from how much it's worth in $. The reality is used custom bolt actions tend to not hold value very well. that is especially true when they're using an actual rem700 action (instead of one of the many custom clones) that may or may not have been "trued" or "blueprinted" by an unknown gunsmith. Was it bedded, and if so, correctly? Headspaced correctly? Then, as mentioned, remaining barrel life matters. |
