3132 yds on a 48"x 36" plate at the Greystone castle ELR match. About the only thing I hit that weekend. |

In 19k OSUT, 1990, I was toward the end of the list to fire my 2 shots from the 105mm main gun on the range at Fort Knox. The center of the enemy armor silhouette had been pretty well shot out, so the training sergeant told me to aim at one of the wooden legs that was holding the target up. I took out the leg from 1200 meters and the target toppled over. He chuckled and said nice shot! |

Shot 1,400 yards last weekend, made a first round hit with my 6.5 Creedmoor. On the target next to my intended target. To be fair, intended target was a 2/3 ipsc and the target I hit was about a couple inches to the right. I’ll take that. Attached File |

Shot 1,500 yards and got humbled today. The full value 10-15 mph cross wind made it tough. The Creedmoor made a bunch of close but no cigar hits. The 6.5 PRC made one hit and the 338 Norma made one hit. The wind calls were a bitch. I would land one 3’ left and adjust and the next one landed 6’ right. I have a lot to learn, including I need bigger steel. Attached File |

Feet shouldn't be in the conversation. A quick correction with the reticle will make a hit. You hit 1.5 mils left then work the bolt and aim 1.5 mils to the right and take another shot. If you come off and dial a correction and come back on then the wind has changed as you saw. |

Thanks for the guidance. That’s the technique I was using. I think I was just too slow in a gusty wind. I had 6 mil dialed and was adjusting +-2 mil holds using the T3 reticule. We are shooting mountain side to mountainside over our orchard. I didn’t have the skills to pick up on wind changes unless they were significant. I’ll keep practicing! I've shot 10" plates (I think that's the size) at 1k yards a bunch. Hit 8 times in a row a few weeks back with my B14 HMR in 6.5cm. Ive got the itch to shoot longer, so just finished building my 300PRC. Attached File As soon as I find somewhere I can shoot a mile, that's the plan. |

| 1400 yards today with a 6 Creedmoor on a 3 MOA plate at a PRS match. Had to hit twice to advance at 800, 1000, 1200, then finally 1400. Wind was a little tricky, gusty between 5-15 from about 4 o’clock. I cleaned the stage. |

18" plate a 1 mile. 300WM. I like to get at least 1 hit on it each trip to that range. The plates are between the 4' squares, which are cake to hit. Sometimes it's more fun shooting under the big targets between the legs just to see the impacts.  |

Impacted a 10x10 plate at 2100yds at Arena Training Facility with 6.5 Creedmoor in my 26" MPA PMR Pro 2. Load was 140gr Berger HT, 42.3gr H4350 and Lapua brass with a velocity of 2875fps. Recommend watch on mobile if you want to zoom in or make sure video playing in 1080p, there is a hit indicator on the right of the target. 6 shots, 3, 4, and 6 were impacts. Very big target but 2100 yds is 2100 yds! Also hit the man size silhouette at 1950yds 3 times in a row and multiple other times during the day.  6.5 Creedmoor @ 2100yds - went 3 for 6 2100yd target  1950 yd target

Ca Ground Squirrel at 400 with JP Ent custom AR. Ca Jackrabbit near 600 with same. Clay pidgeons at 500 with handloads in 300WinMag Rem 700P Same 300WinMag at 800 yards with 5 shot group shot centered at point of aim that I could almost cover with my hand. Group was no wider than a dollar bill with 3 shots straight in line and 2 shots centered up but maybe 6 inches in line with that drawn perpendicular to horizontal string. Was shot in a left to right wind needing 5.5 MOA windage adjustment. Always wanted to push farther, especially when I got a 50. But largely dropped off the face of the earth shooting my own stuff after around 2008. Went back to school to take math classes for fun in early 2000s. Longer range shooting was mybway of exercising math skills and statistics/probability. |

I've shot further but no pics or videos of it, so 1511 yards cold bore hit on a 1 moa rock, up in the mountains a couple years ago over the 4th of July week, we were hauling supplies in to our fall hunt camp.. That night around the fire, my drunk best friend bet me I couldn't hit a beer..So we got up the next morning, he hiked a beer up to the ridge and set it on a big rock, 766 yards from my muzzle, 2 yards less than the RF measured from the tripod the spotting scope was on behind me... 1st round hit on video... Rifle is a MPA BA chassis, Defiant Tenacity action, 30" bartlein 5R 9 twist barrel, 4.5-27 razor gen 2, Trigger tech trigger, fat bastard brake, accurate mags, Atlas PRS bipod..... Chambered for 300rum with the 230 berger in front of 99.0 grains of RL-33 for 3220fps at 5300 energy... New best this weekend with the 6.5 CM. Hit man sized silhouette multiple times at 2123yds at Arena in Blakely GA. Maxed my elevation at 30 mil and held over in the reticle about 3.6. Dialed 3.5 mil windage as the PR2 reticle wouldn’t support that much wind hold at only 3.6mil in the reticle. Factory PMR Pro 2. 140gr Hybrid Targets over 42.3gr of H4350. 2880fps 4-5 SD over multiple 20 round strings of fire. |

Summary of yesterdays shoot:(shooting my 300nm) Clean cold bore 1,137 yards plus 3 more all hits. Three rounds 1,235 all hits. (Hero mode off )1 out of 5 on at 1,350.3 out of 6 with 245’s on at 1,579. 3 out of 7 with 220’s on at 1,579 This game is addicting. I need a wind caller. |
Since we decided to shoot an elr comp my shooting buddy and I decided we need to practice long. He has never shot past 1,000. He shot my rifle at 1,000 and ordered one the next day. Same smith built his up and this was his first time shooting longer. He shot this .2 moa group at 1,420 in a 12 mph full value wind. He’s pretty happy.

| 6.5CM, 20" AR, prone off a bipod with a rear bag. 2x2' boulder at 1400m. 5/5. 3300' ASL. Can't recall the wind conditions, but they were fairly sane and consistent. |

Sitting on a tractor , twisted half way around shooting directly behind me holding with one hand 150+ yards with a Ruger single six with the magnum cylinder on a medium sized woodchuck. At best I was hoping to hit close enough to scare it. I had 5 or six folks who watched me drop it DRT with the first shot. Only one guy knew about guns to the point he knew it was a lucky shot and he didn't let on . All the other folks thought I was a Ninja or something . |
Not a big jump in yardage but shot 1,990, 2,200 and 2,400 Monday. The best part was 2 rounds and hit on all targets. Hit 3 in a row on 2,400 and called it good. The new barrel is a unicorn barrel. Smoking fast, 2,994 fps with 245 Berger’s and shooting in the 1’s and 2’s.

5/5 rounds on f class target at 980yds with an AR. 8" steel at 450yds with a Mosin and irons. I particularly enjoy .22lr at 200+. We have a 1k private "range" (steel out to 700, can set up more out to exactly 1k when needed) but not easy to get further around here. ETA: halfway though finishing a precision build and will find a way to hit 1400-1500yds somehow. Really more worried about hair splitting accuracy within 1k, lots of my shooting is practical, predators and such. On that note, I'll throw in 420yds first round hit on a full bore running coyote and 517yds on a coyote with thermal. Not extreme at all on paper but in real world conditions under time constraints is often far more difficult than range days IMO. Reloading is key to all of this, IMO. Can afford to shoot enough to get good, can make more ammo any time, etc. |
