[Last Edit: Mister_Donut] [#3]
Went up to do some long range plinking with a couple of pals on the weekend, took the BCL102 to see if the bolt catch would break. Yeah, I broke the Armalite bolt catch after 17 rounds the last time I had the rifle out, so I threw in a Norinco one from my spare parts box. Ran about 80 rounds of 147gr ELD Match through it, no hiccups. Seems like the communist bolt catch is holding up.

Was able to get first round on steel at 485m and 740m, but I had to work a bit for 1,010m.  I think with a better shooter with more experience, it probably could have done better, but by the time I started shooting for 1km, it was late in the day and I was pretty tired and not really focusing anymore.  Still, I was pretty happy that I was able to make hits at 1km.

Also had the 50 out for $hits and giggles.

Stirring the pot with a brand new M1A, in 6.5 Creedmoor, with some Crazy Horse vibes.....

.982 3-shot, 100yds

@HaveBlue83

I'd like to see what kind of 10-round group you can get out that M1A.

i rarely ever shoot more than a 3 shot group. waste of 2 rounds for me. 10shot i wouldnt see the point. i prefer making rocks smaller at distance than to overuse the paper. Once my zero is tuned, its out to distance she goes. and thats with any rifle I build buy or load for.

After I get a good zero I never shoot for groups. Constant paper punching is for nerds. Distance is where you really get to know your system.

YUP! last time i was out i had a canted rericle (somehow something moved when i bubbled it), and i was seeing a 2min wander on my windage @580yds with the 6.5cm. thats not normal! (no wind call that day) i decided to do a quick level job, confirmed zero again, went out to 580yds again, and it was gone. tracking was good after that too. 100yd groups show ya some things, but everyrhing is compounded @ distance!  glad someone agrees that paper is for load developmemt and zero checks, and the rest is sent out afar :)

Took my 6 Grendel out for some load development.  Varget was a little high pressure with the really accurate load so I decided to try H4895 with 105 Berger Hybrids.

I had also swapped out uppers.  I had it in a LaRue OBR Lite upper and I moved it to a VLTOR monolithic upper.  The monolithic uppers make mounting scopes much easier.  And of course, a Thunderbeast suppressor and a S&B 4-16x42.

This is 5 shots at 610 yards.  Pretty happy with that.

My Mk11/M110 mini-wanna be.  I’m too poor to afford all the parts at once...  But at least I can shoot it as I get the parts.  List is as follows:

Ballistic Advantage heavy profile barrel
Superlative Arms .750 adjustable gas block
Aero upper, lower, and bolt carrier
Knights SR25 rail
Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44
ARMS 22 rings
DPMS A2 buttstock

I’m planning on shooting it this weekend and seeing what ammo it likes.
