Obviously screwing a suppressor on the end of barrel is going to completely throw unsuppressed data out the window due to the change in barrel harmonics. Is there a way to compensate for this in Strelok or other ballistic app ? |
| Originally I was going to say wouldn't it be as simple of running the round through a Chrono, then I realized Silencers cause POI change. Like the prev poster stated, get a second zero and run as second strelok app if the difference in velocity is enough to warrant a second profile given your accuracy needs. |
| I know my 6.5 drops .4 mil when I put my can on it, I just compensate by giving it an extra .4 mil. It works out to 600 so far. |

Generally speaking, suppressors will shift POI, but rarely cause enough of a velocity shift to completely invalidate ballistic data you’ve established with a specific gun/load combo unsuppressed. This means, in general, you may (or in most cases will) need to adjust your zero when switching between suppressed/unsuppressed, but you will not need separate ballistic data. |
