Just added my information in the sticky section. Hopefully someone can add more.

Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP EBR-2C reticle Hornandy Brass Hornandy 108gr ELD-M CCI Large Rifle Magnum Primers 41.2gr H4350 powder 3080fps .3 MOA at 100yds 15 thousands off the lands Hornandy Brass Hornandy 105gr HPBT CCI Large Rifle Magnum Primers 39.4gr H4350 2990fps .5 MOA at 100yds 45 thousands off lands. I'll throw in my findings. These are loads I found nodes for with my rifle. Higher charges opened up then came back in slowly, but primers started showing more cratering or a piercing here or there. With the mid range charge weight grouping as well as it did on the ladder, I stayed there and messed with it. Rifle is a Aero M5, 22" Wilson Combat SS profile fluted, 1/8 twist, Steiner 3-12x50 Military Tactical G2B reticle. Hornady brass (trimmed to 1.910) 108g Hornady ELD Match WLR primer (used CCI 200, 34 & BR-2 with no real changes noted) 39.6g H4350 Projectiles seated to 2.800 COAL Velocity ~2940-3000 fps, average group ~.8 MOA @ 100m Hornady brass (trimmed to 1.910)107g Sierra HPBT Matchkings WLR primer 39.5g H4350 Projectiles seated to 2.800 COAL Velocity ~2900 fps, average group ~.7 MOA @ 100m I haven't messed with seating depth yet, but may yield nothing due to mag length restriction. Atmospheric conditions when the Hornady ELD's were run was ~25-28 hotter/~23% more humid/00.14 inHg less pressure. Brass itself was in good shape. No swipes or smears until near/at max charges. Primer pockets are loose after only a couple loadings. I'll be switching brass and primer sizes soon to see what works better/best for my rifles. Groups could be better if the shooter (me) was capable of more. |

Hodgdon H4350 powder is obviously the favorite powder for heavy (100+ grain) bullets and 6mm Creedmoor.
Are there any alternative powders to H4350 that perform as well (or nearly as well?). Reason: phoned around and everyone is out of H4350 round here; don't want to mail order. |

To answer your question: I just ordered a bunch of 108 grain Hornady Match ELD polymer tip BT. As far as the powder I have on hand, I am thinking of using H380. I think H380 is suppose to work well in 243. I also have H1000 - but not sure if it will work in Creedmoor (seems too slow). Would CFE work, possibly? (I have a pound on hand to try). I have a RPR in 6mm Creedmoor. Will report back how it goes. Thanks again, |
