Initial testing of some 69gr match ammo. While I know many choose a 70+ grain weight for match ammo, the 69’s tend to shoot decent groups for close to intermediate ranges. Of the 4 tested, 3 were sub moa, with 1 breaking 1/2moa. Not bad for factory ammo. Berger/Norma/PPU/Black Hills tested in this series. I hope to have part 2 by next week.  223 Precision Ammo shootout…does higher price equal better performance? |

I've had excellent results shooting Rocky Mountain Reloading 69's out of White Oak service rifle barrels out to 300. Yesterday, I shot a high master score with them loaded to magazine length (~2.250" OAL) , 24.2 grains TAC, prone position, sling-supported, 20 shots, 200 yards. Rocky Mountain Reloading now offers a 75 grain match bullet as well. These 69's shoot so well, I haven't seen any need to try the 75's. |

Very informative. That Berger did shoot amazing. The PPU is about what I would expect, considering the "cost" and QC of making it. That Norma shoots very respectably ! And the Black Hills, is also no slouch. Just curious, what is the rifles trigger pull weight ? And have you fired any of the Sierra 69gr from that rifle ? ( I don't remember, and would like to kick myself for missing out on that part of the clearance deal... Lol ) Thank You for sharing !! Any "tease trailers" as too what ammo is next ?..... Aust. Outback ? |

The pull weight is around 15-16oz for the second stage iirc. If I’m being honest, that’s my better half’s rifle I built for her. I didn’t want the pull weight too light for her. The next vid will have ADI and FGMM, and possibly the reshoot of the Black Hills. For the BH’s, 7 of those shots went into about 0..35moa, so I think the suppressor or mirage had a small effect.
