Validation that you have assembled an amazing shooting rifle/load combo is awesome. This gun/load has been a tack driver for 2 years now. 300WM 230gr Bergers. I'm just past 1700rds and wondering how much longer it will shoot this well. Made the trip again to TVP yesterday. Range was packed, there was a good steady wind but it was really hazy/smoky so 1200yds was as far as I could reasonably see hits on steel. The group of guys next to me were struggling at 1000, and 1100. Turns out they were doing as well as they could with the bullets they were using. I don't leave the range unless my last shot is a hit, and I tell everyone I know to do the same. Even if its closer, leave on a hit. By the time i had fired 50+ rds I had everything dialed in, and just hit the 10" plate at 1K 6 times with the first 6 shots. The guys next to me are getting ready to pack up so I said hey, wanna make an easy 1K yd shot? First guy gets behind the gun, dry fires to get use to the trigger then bang....clang center hit as I watched the trace. Second guy repeats the process as the 1st guy watches the trace hit center of the plate. 3rd guy lays down behind the rifle and another center hit. 99.9% of the time it's the Indian not the arrow. In this case it was their arrows, but they got to head home on 1st round hits at 1000yds from my favorite blaster. The last round I fired myself and it was another center hit. It's satisfying knowing you have "tack driver", and it feels almost boastful knowing 3 strangers who youll will never see again also know your rifle hammers!  |

Too many kids see the guntubers making 1000yd shots with 14.5" 5.56 ARs and don't understand the 3 hits on the video took 87 shots to edit into 3 hits. On a crowded weekend at this range there is always at least one dude with a 16" AR wasting ammo and getting frustrated. |
