With the Gen 2 PSTs coming out I wonder if they might be nice enough to toss these in its the higher end scopes?
I also agree I had the butler creek caps as they seem to last 1 range trip and break. With the VIP warranty even if these break and you get replacements its a good deal. |

Electric tape, I am sure that will be nice and secure in 100 degree temps not to mention a gooey mess. The old caps came with a plastic shim/washer that snapped into the undercut in the cover, these Defender caps have the undercut as if it were made for it. Here is the shim from my old version(smaller).

How are you guys liking these? I find that mine pop open a little easier than I prefer, especially the objective. I sent my first one back to vortex and my second does the same. Any bump will cause it to pop. I try to close the caps when I put the rifle in a bag, and many times find them open when I pull the rifle out. I know this is an old post but the objective caps do this if you leave the dope disk example/advertisement card in the cap. If you want the cap to close properly, you have to remove it. |
