What kind of foundation is best to minimize pest infiltration in a equipment shed I'm having built? I've watched 1/2 doz YT videos on the subject and they speak to cost and structure/strength but not to my additional concern. I've spoken to the 1st of 3 builders I'm seeking a bid from yesterday and he uses the wet set method for his foundations. How do I seal the base of the walls of a shed? Thanks |
| For mine, the bottom 2x6 is not touching the concrete. There is sealant tape between them. Mine was emseal 25-25-06 (https://www.emseal.com/specialty-gaskets-tapes/product/ast-hi-acrylic-mst-metal-roof-metal-building-sealant/). Then outside of the 2x6 and over the concrete, metal trim. The wall sheet metal went up after the trim. That will keep out anything bigger than insects. If you want to keep out insects, there are a ton of other things that need sealed up like the doors, where the expansion joints in the concrete meet the walls, spray foam around the inside where the wall meets the 2x6. |
