I have used ft8 successfully, and downloaded js8call v2.1.1
I am on 40 meters now, 7.078, not seeing much in the waterfall but hearing stations. No decode at all. Switched over to ft8, decodes at 7076 no problem from all over the world. Have tried to make sure settings in both programs are the same. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Want to hop in on the arfcom fun! |

In usb, I get ft8 decode at 7074. In digi mode on yaesu 897 ft8 comes through at 7076. The way I am set up it does not decode ft8 in usb mode, only dig. But this make me wonder if i am in dig mode for js8call and up to 7080 instead of 7078 will i copy...

And the answer is YES! That is my first js8call decode!

Its menu #38 on the FT-897D. I set it to "user-U" to get Olivia running. Full disclosure I had multiple problems this setting was only part of it. My real problem was I had an older version of the program. Updating the fldigi version took my print from gibberish to clear. |
| I have my 897d set up for 50w ft8 through a signalink to wsjt-x and it worked fine on 10/20/40m last field day, but didn't try js8 though I imagine the settings would be the same. If you want to know my radio menu settings just shoot me a PM and I'll pull it out of my field bag and fire it up. |
