I had read that ceramic tint is beneficial for blocking a lot of heat, so I figured that it would work in my travel trailer. Took it to a reasonable priced place in my AO, and they did a great job. My camper sits in my storage building out of the weather when not being used, but I hope to take it out soon to see if it helps. How much did that run ya, OP? I yanked out most of the curtains and fixtures in my truck camper, which deleted a good amount of weight. Not too concerned about privacy as I camp in the sticks, but thermal transfer reduction would be nice. |

I called 5 places to get quotes One was not ceramic, but was $200 Of the ceramic tint installs, I got a quote for $400 for a lower quality material, the good nano ceramic for $500 that I went with and two quotes that basically said they weren’t interested. One was $1,400 and the other a range estimate from $800-$1,200 My camper is not a high end trailer and the windows actually caused some issues themselves, but he stuck with his quote. And it has a warranty. I think they look great and should be good for the privacy and thermal control |

I have never tinted any kind of window, so it was worth my while my time to have someone that knows how to do it get it done. I don't know if you caught my previous comment in one of my replies that the tint shop actually had a couple issues with getting the tint installed. So, apparently being flat glass doesn't make it easy every time. If the tint guy had issues, I am pretty sure I would've as well. Kinda eats into the "savings" when the pro had to rip it off at least once to get it right. I have a warranty on the install And more importantly, I don't have a bubbled up, peeling mess of a tint job that I see all the time in parking lots from people that likely did it theirself "just as good". |

Window tint isn't something where you're just going to attempt to DIY and have it come out perfect on your first try. I've tried it a bunch and it's difficult. I've also had shops tint windows for me that didn't do a great job. It's not easy, and it requires skill. It's also not one of those things you should just price shop. It's not like an alternator where it either gets installed or it doesn't. There can be a massive difference in quality based on who installs it. |

Amazon has a bunch of brands I know nothing about, and 3M and Llumar looks like they try to sell to installers, not DIYers. |
