I have a 2021 East To West Della Terra 271BH trailer. My water has never functioned on 120v, it only works on propane. So yesterday I climbed into the water heater hole of doom, and found I have 120v at the outlet for the water heater to plug in to. The breaker was not tripped, and every fuse in the poorly labeled panel was good. However, at my control panel, there's a switch for the water heater, but only one. My old trailer had two switches, one for gas and one for electric. My new trailer only has the one switch. When I'm plugged in, no propane on, the warning/pilot light switch stays illuminated but I never get hot water. Do I need a seperate switch at the control panel for the 110 side of the water heater?? It seems like everything is there to run it, but it just isn't turning on. I hate to take in to the dealer, we have a pretty good warranty, because it'll sit down there for weeks while we wait for it to get fixed. |

You likely have a Suburban water heater. Open the panel outside the camper and there is a propane/electric switch there. On electric, the WH has high amperage use, so you would likely not be able to run much of anything else(A/C, heater, or microwave, etc) at the same time. Plus, the propane use is much more efficient. I tried running mine on electric once and have never bothered with it again. |

Well, I'm a little stumped too. Couple more things that may not necessarily get it working again and you may already have done. 1.My camper also only has the one lighted switch on the control panel. This does need to be on whether its running on electric or propane. I don't know why they don't have two separate switches because I have always assumed that water heater fuel type operates the system differently. 2.Do you have full 30 amp shore power hooked up or are you trying to run it off a drop cord. Electric water heaters are power hungry and it might not run on a drop cord. Might not trip the breaker, but just not enough juice to get it going Other that these things, I am out of ideas right now, so good luck. |

| The switch on the heater is usually the culprit. They're junk. Otherwise pull the cover over the element and check for power on both sides of the element. If the power is only on one side. You have a likely bad element. If no power to element the switch is most likely. |

My control panel also has a switch for 120v and propane, to run either one or both (both is nice when everyone needs a shower). I'd make a call to the dealer or manufacturer and ask if you've got the wrong panel. |
