I am in the market for a Utv. I am looking at the Kubota x1100c and the John Deere 835m with hvac cab. I ll b buying used. Has any had good or bad luck with either unit? I know the Kubota is slow. Ok with that. Kubota diesel and hydrostatic trans. The jd is gas with cvt. Thanks for your advice |

Not sure about 1100c but my kubota x1140 diesel has been fantastic. It will get up to about 22-23 mph downhill lol but I can fill the dump bed heaping over with gravel and it will still do 5mph up a 17* hill. Or carry 6 dudes with rifles and gear up without getting lugged out Turn radius kinda sucks. It will go pretty much anywhere though. It’s a little noisy. |

I'm in the market for an electric, really for the noise and ease of use for my wife. I don't have anything right now, so I am feeling mobility-limited since my farm truck is also having trouble. I used to have a Kaw Mule and a Polaris 700ish, sold them both to a friend who could fix them up properly. I don't need anything too fast or fancy. Probably a Kandi as the cheapest non-toy-tier thing. I have noticed the local used market is really soft. I'm also looking for a modern Honda ATV and the prices are much better than last year at this time. |

| Personally I would shy away from electric, but that’s just me. My Polaris Ranger is perfect for me on the farm. And my wife, who didn’t want it, loves to drive it. If she can drive a car, she can drive it. And it was cheaper, with rebates and such, than the used market. |

I'd buy it again. |

It’s a little noisy. 1100c and x1140 are same mechanically, just one has cab and other is a 4 seater. OP just know that hills/towing kill Kubota hydrostatics and there are very few to no resources to rebuild them, so if the drive system dies, its a $6,000 replacement plus labor unless you do it yourself. That said, I have both.... with dead hydrostatics but over 4,000hrs/20k miles each and both have perfectly running engines. I may replace one or try my hand at a rebuild, but not holding my breath over it. I have two john deere gator HPX 615's with similar hours/mileage that are still running and driving. They are much easier to work on, but not as strong in some situations. The kubota's weight helped it in that case. |

I literally live on a mountain with about 600’ elevation change on my property and I live on the top so drive the sxs up and down almost every day. Mines 5 yo but not nearly the hours yours have. |

I would buy new all day long, but not used for this reason. I still feel we get our monies worth out of them, its just that the majority I see for sale used are starting to show the signs of this failure. |
