The UST Emergency Food Ration bars. Expiration date is in May of this year.
They are supposed to be like the old Coast Guard emergency rations, breakable into squares, but these were fused into one huge solid black, no packaging between the "squares". There was no breaking that up without tools. I nibbled a bit off one corner, tasted good, but with something to break it up, it's one enormous food bar, pretty hard to eat/use. I have no idea when or why I bought them, found them while updating the BOB. I've got three of them in my vehicle emergency bag. The bars don't break even when they're not old  .That said, if I'm in a position where I'm stranded for days. I won't care what it tastes like or how big it is. They're fairly cheap and very calorie dense. Just what was needed. |
