It has been 24 hours since Charlie Kirk was assassinated. My condolences go out to Mrs. Kirk, who will now have to endure the loss of a husband, and to the Kirk children, who will have to grow up without a father. Charlie won't be there when his son graduates from high school. Charlie won't be able to walk his daughter down the aisle. All that was stolen. While the Kirk family's pain is real, it is not unique. Many, many American families have to endure what the Kirk family now has to endure. Too many. Far too many. Kirk's fame perhaps brings focus and attention to the central political issue in this country. However, focus and attention do not necessarily translate into meaningful action. And that brings me to what I fear will be the worst result of the Charlie Kirk assassination: More of the status quo. Right now, our hearts and our minds are filled with thoughts about Charlie Kirk and his family. But will the leaders on the right translate those thoughts and that energy into anything meaningful? Or will it be more of the same rhetoric and fantasies about the mythical common ground we need to reach? Will we get to hear more about these ethereal "Conservative Values" that are perhaps noble but certainly impractical? And if nothing is done, how long before Charlie Kirk's assassination is forgotten, overshadowed by the next incident in a steady stream of violence empowered and enabled by the left? Will Kirk's murder pass out of the public consciousness in a week or two when another outrageous horror takes place? How long before we forget Charlie Kirk and instead scream in impotent rage about the latest violence, which could take any number of familiar forms: A couple beaten senseless for the crime of wanting to have a night out. Disturbing video shows woman knocked out cold by jeering crowd in wild Cincinnati street brawl A woman murdered on mass transit by a career criminal, slaughtered for the crime of being white. Ukrainian woman stabbed to death in unprovoked attack while riding train in North Carolina: Police - ABC News Or perhaps, a career criminal, who undoubtedly was recently arrested but released on his own recognizance, will murder a retired professor and dump her body in a dog park. Man charged in retired Auburn professor's murder in Alabama Man charged in Auburn University professor killing avoided previous felony | Fox News Or maybe another innocent family will be killed on the road by an illegal alien who was either drunk, incapable of driving safely on our roadways, or both. 'How was he hired': Florida crash truck driver Harjinder Singh's employer subpoenaed, asked to provide all documents Another woman raped and killed by an illegal alien, who was not only allowed, but encouraged to come into the country by leftist politicians? Full timeline in killing of nursing student Laken Riley at UGA | 11alive.com Or perhaps the illegal alien, a repeat offender of both our immigration and criminal laws, will skip the rape and go straight to the murder, shooting her in a public place, secure in the knowledge that the local institutions will rush to his defense. Illegal immigrant cleared in Kate Steinle death gets time served for gun charge Moral Superiority. Those on the left are self-assured of their moral superiority. They are so self-assured that they believe any means will be justified to achieve their noble ends. When they are combating fascism and "literally Hitler," any self-restraint would be weakness. Even so there are many on the right who are just as self-assured of their moral superiority. However, unlike the left who uses their moral superiority to justify their actions, the right uses their moral superiority to justify their inaction. The left will go out and assault and attack and kill because they are morally superior. Leaders all across the right will let the left assault and attack and kill you because they are morally superior They will let drugs flood our communities. They will let our young men get killed in aimless and endless wars. They will allow illegal aliens to slaughter citizens. When America's sons and daughters are lying lifeless in the street, these spineless leaders will stand smug at their podiums, speak confidently to the press and say, "We deplore this senseless tragedy. But…" We can't send federal troops into D.C. or Chicago, they say. Sure, hundreds are being shot and killed every year, but bringing in the military to establish Justice and insure domestic Tranquility, would violate The Constitution. We can't use the military to stop transnational criminal networks from smuggling drugs into our country, kill our youth and poison our communities, they say. Sure tens of thousands of Americans die from overdoses every year, but better that they die than we potentially violate the letter (but not the spirit) of The Constitution. When the left attacks, assaults, and murders the right, we could reciprocate. We could, but that would be against the Bible and the theme of turning the other cheek. Better that innocent Americans die than Conservative leaders compromise their high values. High values that guide the leaders of the right into a single and preferred course of action: nothing. They use the penultimate works of religion and government not as guides for action, but justifications for their inaction. In the words of Chief Wiggum from The Simpsons, "I'd rather let a thousand guilty men go free than chase after them." Rather than action, we get boilerplate platitudes. These are secular but emptier versions of the much derided "Thoughts and Prayers." We need to reach across the aisle. We need to embrace our common values. We need to find common ground. We need to come together. We're all in this together. After all, we're all Americans. But maybe we aren't all Americans after all. The right can put The Constitution and the rule of law on a pedestal, but the left does believe in the rule of law or The Constitution. To the left, the rule of law is only a tool to be used selectively in the pursuit of power. The Civil Rights Act is sacrosanct, but federal immigration laws can be ignored and openly defied. Elements of the First Amendment can be interpreted so broadly so as to compel a citizen to bake a cake they don't want. The Second Amendment is a second class right that can be infringed at will. Laws are laws, so long as they don't disproportionately impact a minority, unless that minority is out of favor. The idea that The Constitution provides a framework by which left and right might come together is quaint. The idea that the Bible might provide a common framework for left and right might come together isn't even worth discussing. Maybe Charlie Kirk's assassination might propel those of the right who are in positions of power to action. Maybe. Or maybe, and I fear this is more likely: Charlie's murder will just be another murder in a nation where half the leaders are happy to encourage murder, and the other half are happy to allow it to happen. Charlie Kirk's family will get the same treatment as so many other Americans: taken for granted, and ranked somewhere beneath the violent criminals, the transnational drug dealers, the illegal aliens, the mentally ill, and so many other groups that seek to undermine and destroy the country whose leaders, left and right, prioritizes them above its own citizens. |

I'm broken at this point., fuck the "we're all Americans" platitude. We need to go on the proverbial offensive. Every time some blue haired libtard spouts off some talking point, shout them down. No more giving quarter to stupid ideas. Yes, you have the right to your opinion but take your pinko commie ideas you're using to justify your failures in life and shove them clean up your ass. When someone is wrong, tell them they're wrong. No more being polite. Fuck reaching across the aisle. They're the ones who are wrong. They are the racists. They are anti-science. They are anti-free speech. They are murdering and mutilating children. They are engaging in class warfare. They are committing mass murder on a regular basis. They are un-American. Fuck them. |

Most of us here are Gen X or older. My teenage sons are broken up about CK. Their classmates in school are broken up. This is Gen Z and Millennials’ MLK assassination moment. They’re upset and PISSED. They’re also surprisingly more religious and prayerful than I was at that age. I had no idea how ubiquitous CK videos were for this generation. I think this is NOT going to blow over. These kids are going to be using the reaction to Charlie’s murder as a political litmus test for decades. If someone didn’t mourn his assassination they’re not gonna have any dealings with that person. If they laughed and called for more violence, these kids aren’t gonna shrug it off. Remember how pissed we were all about Al Qaeda? That’s how they’re looking at the “woke”. |

They are far more conservative than people Realize. They grew up through Covid, DEI, BLM, Me Too and the like. They were basically demonized for being straight, male and not of a favored race their entire formative years. They aren’t happy. |

By the way… I love your books! That short story about broken swords (?) gave me chills. I have lived in Northern VA and know how indulgent and insulated from reality so many of the bureaucracy is. The tawdry attempt to flee by boat and not knowing how to hot wire the engine was perfectly executed description of the type of people. |

Shameless bump. It’s been a few weeks… the spectacle of millions of leftists venting their hatred and ignorance about CK was an eye opener. The surprising blowback from internet sleuths who compiled the list of 50,000+ people to make examples of was unexpected at least by me… but in hindsight everyone is looking for something practical to do. And it has started having a chilling affect on leftist cry bullies who are not used to being a on the receiving end of cancel culture. Now that we’re past the initial shock, we are entering the “institutional” phase where guys who loved CK are starting to turn the screws on a genuine purge and without the usual handwringing and self doubt that usually plagues Conservatives. The women folk who usually urge caution are themselves spitting fire. So between the purge of the military and Fed bureaucrats… and the ongoing ICE crackdown on illegal immigrants and now Antifa we may see the eclipse of organized Leftists by the midterms. If MAGA blows out the Democrats that’s when I think they will go kinetic. But so what? We’re still white hot pissed. |

The left is fractured into the racists, communists, islamicists, secular Jews, Karens… and the gheys. The right is splitting into RINOs, Trump’s immediate followers, Pissed off TPUSA/MAGA, Jewish MIGA, Groypers, and the “everything is fake and gay” black pilled former MAGA. Babel. If things start going pear shaped there is no “center”. |

Principalities and powers. Someone or ones are desperately trying to egg on a civil war or low grade insurgency. Short of that, a dozen purity spirals. My principles include “no double standards for friends or foes”. It helps focus and filter what is fake and gay and what isn’t |

Follow Up: I wanted to follow up on my earlier post regarding the Charlie Kirk assassination. So the TV I have at my house gets a couple of different news channels. Specifically, it gets two shows in the afternoon. One is titled, "The Charlie Kirk Show" and the other is just titled, "Charlie Kirk." From what I can tell, it’s the same content, just branded differently. I never really watched them intently, but if I was inside in the afternoon I'd turn them on for background ambiance. Following the assassination, the shows are still on, but I couldn't tell you who hosts them. Whoever they are, they aren't Charlie Kirk. They just don't have his charisma, eloquence, rhetoric, or gravitas. So, a few points: 1)Political Assassinations work: I hate to say it, but assassinations work. When the really good leaders are gone, they're gone, and they aren't easily replaced. Charlie Kirk is gone and I don't see anybody stepping up to fill the void. Many are trying. I think Milo Yiannopoulos promised to come back into the media sphere after the assassination, but he isn't going to fill Charlie's shoes and so far I don't see anybody able to come forward to carry Kirk's load. An heir apparent would need to have both Charlie Kirk's skills, but also Charlie Kirk's desire to move the ball forward; to use the power of logic, speech and arguments to bring about actual political change. We don't need another complainer who is complaining and talking just to cash in on the latest outrage. We need a media personality that understands that words need to be the catalyst for action, otherwise we're just shouting at the clouds. So far, I see that void still empty. The Charlie Kirk assassination was much like the passing of Rush Limbaugh: he was a one of kind and few could fill that role. Even so, there are many pretenders vying for the throne. Which brings me to the next point. 2)The Right Needs New Pundits: One recognizable personality I do see on the Charlie Kirk show is Glenn Beck. Every time I turned on the Charlie Kirk shows, Glenn was being interviewed as a guest. While Glenn Beck may have been a conservative media powerhouse during the first Obama administration, his time has come and it has gone. Long gone. Can't even see him in the rearview mirror gone. And he's singing the same song he did over a decade ago when he was a leading voice in Conservatism. "If the political right just loves its enemies," Glenn Beck says, things will work out. When will it work out? That's indeterminate. How will it work out? Glenn doesn't say. But if the right just shows the left, far-left, Antifa, the nouveau-communists, the Islamicists, the illegal immigrants and their facilitators, the professional criminal class, and basically everybody else that wants to slit throats and throw acid in peoples' face, that, according to Beck, is the path to victory. Right. The political right's problem is it just hasn't shown enough tolerance to those who would murder them for the crime of existing. I understand that a national figure like Beck wouldn't want to issue a call to arms for many obvious reasons. Even so, we aren't going to "love our neighbor" out of the political and cultural dilemma we find ourselves in. Biblically, I appreciate Beck's Sermon on the Mount 2.0 message. That said, it's no path to victory. Human history, both recent and ancient, shows that when people (including Christians) take an active role in their self-preservation in the here-and-now of the physical realm, they get much different results than when they do not. Love is not a path to victory. Of course its not just Beck on the TV singing the hymns of 2010 Conservatism. A quick flick through the news channels rewarded me with such stalwarts as Bill O'Reily, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Rudy Guilliani, and Newt Ginrich. All of them have been singing the Conservative hymns for decades (and we see what they've accomplished). None of them hold any appeal for a young man in the Gen Z or Gen Alpha cohorts, a demographic that is solidly right politically for good reasons. Rudy Giuliani may have been America's Mayor after 9/11, but Gen Z and Gen Alpha didn't experience 9/11 and have much different social concerns. Personally, I think Mayor Giuliani did a great job managing 9/11 and I don't like how he was left in the wind after 2020, but he doesn't need his own show. He's not breathing life into new right-wing voters, he's just shouting at clouds. Same with all the others. They aren't doing anything to mobilize or organize the right-wing base, they're replaying the same messages from the last quarter century to the same aging population that got us into the current mess we're in. They are taking up time and airspace that could be used to mobilize political power, especially with younger men who are studies show are inclined to vote right. A twenty-year-old American male, whose formative years were spent in the height of the Covid craze, doesn't care that Newt Gingrich balanced the budget in the 1990s or the supposed benefits of corporate tax reform. He doesn't want to hear about compassionate conservativism or big tent conservativism when DEI is keeping him from getting a job and Somali "refugees" are stealing his inheritance through blatant and unpunished fraud. Charlie Kirk understood that the current crop of young Americans, left and right, had legitimate political concerns and that mobilizing the youth brings political power. That's why the left has been doing it for years. Glenn Beck and all these other old hats? I hope they're making money selling boner pills, gold investments and reverse mortgages because they sure ain't moving the political football forward. I even saw Dick Morris getting interviewed more than once. Honestly, who cares what Dick Morris has to say about anything? Why would anybody waste time by putting him on the air? My worry after Charlie Kirk's assassination was that everything would go on as it had before. A survey of the "conservative" media landscape shows that exactly what's happened. "Grifter" is a left-wing epithet, but perhaps an accurate one. The fixtures in conservative media seem to be just that, Grifters. Unlike Charlie Kirk, I don't think they really care about the political issues (or the people) they claim to be champion. If they did, they'd realize that 2010's conservatism never conserved anything and isn't going to, they'd hang up their microphones, and they make way for some new blood. |

The vacuum is being filled with Fuentes and the Groypers… and the adjacent pundits like Matt Walsh and James Lindsay. But I agree: no one can replace Kirk. We’re all going to suffer for this loss and that was probably why we all mourned for the “disturbance in the Force”. |

Candice Owens clearly loved Charlie… and the timing of her sudden marriage to George Farmer makes me wonder if she was on the rebound… Her animosity towards Erika makes perfect sense. But I didn’t expect her suicidal mission to poison the well against TPUSA… knee caping their momentum. Still, if TPUSA has a clue they’ll keep going as new chapters open. But we need more parallel organizations. |
