Any one have real life experience using 458 socom, makers 500 gr bullets? I have a load worked up that is running 1070 fps. I have a tag this year. I want to shoot one with subs, but I am worried about wounding an animal. |

Check the load data section on the .458 SOCOM forums. Do a search on 500 gr. Maker and there are a lot of posts regarding the use of this bullet. I have not personally used those bullets myself though. link Then type in "500 gr. Maker" |

Not Socom, but I did a bunch of stuff with the 450 Bushmaster, shooting big 405gr bullets. I went Bushy because it seemed easier to deal with than the Socom. 450 Bushmaster subsonic
