That's a legit lightweight gear list above pal.

That jacket is like 1/5 the alotted weight those guys rock for through hikes haha.

@161Infantry

Good luck! Post pics of the trip if so inclined.  Really want to do the PCT.

My quilt, rain jacket plus field jacketiner is still 3oz lighter and the seperation  allows me to layer as weather changes.

Section J of the PCT is probably one of the best hikes in the world.  I did it a couple months ago and want to go back. Look at the Goat Rocks wilderness section of the PCT. It is amazing as well. I used a pack by Deuter. Light weight and very comfortable.

Yes.

I now almost exclusively hike in a sun hoody.  Summer, winter, doesn't matter.  Outdoor Research Echo for summer, Black Diamond Alpenglow for winter.  For summer use, it keeps the sun off my ears and neck and my lower face, and compliments the brim of my baseball hat.  In the winter, it's a hat I can't drop.  Despite being thin, it is very effective at keeping the wind at bay, all the way down the back half of my neck, which isn't something that hat is going to do.  An out on glacier - a baseball hat, and the hood drawn way over to create a narrow, forward-looking tunnel to keep minimize sun exposure, all angle sun exposure.

And, the sun hoody is thin enough and stretchy enough that it will easily fit over a helmet, or under a helmet - something that a hat can barely do half of; if you haven't yet dropped it somewhere, in which case it's doing zero-point-zero of that.
