I seem to remember talk of one in the regular survival forum, before this sub-forum was created. Is there a SF net that meets on HF? |

I tried to get one started after this forum was created but no one wanted the task of oversight. Before this forum was created there was an informal net and it may still exist. slasher |

Or we could just do as they always have. Not every radio can do 60m. I know mine cant. Plus one of the caveats is band conditions don't support coast to coast communication every night at this point in the sunspot cycle. Hell if those of us want to do regional nets I can help organize or maybe even be net control for southeast. There are more experienced SF hams in the region but I will volunteer to get the ball rolling. I can work coast to coast most evenings using weak signal/digital modes like PSK31 but again most hams do not have the capability at this time. Where are you in GA Bigham? |

well, i hear strong QSO's on both sides of the ARFCOM 80m HF freq 3.861 (for example, at 3.860 and 3.8675), how about trying 3.880? ar-jedi |

can't hear them, not all that surprised as my current antenna setup works much better N/S than E/W. canada and west virginia are no problem for me, even with 10W. ar-jedi |

I'm oriented E/W right now, but I seemed to get better results when I had it N/S. All I'm using right now is about 12 feet of zipper cord hanging up in my living room. When I get a real antenna strung up outside, my lot is better suited for N/S orientation, but I can probably fit a 20m dipole for an E/W run. I think.
