So, tomorrow, I plan to shoot a cowboy match in the morning and then drive to the hunting property for an evening sit it is only 45 minutes from the gun club where the match is held. Going back home and then to the property would be a three-hour detour. I plan to lock up all the firearms in the safe under the rear seat of my truck while I am hunting. question, how much trouble am I in if a DNR cop, for whatever reason, decides to search my truck and find firearms and ammo in it during archery-only deer season? |

| Hell I know people that carry concealed while archery hunting and even had 2 game wardens and a local cop tell me they also carry while archery hunting because of poachers and coyote packs and nobody is going to get jammed up if caught doing it as long as you have a carry permit. |

Can’t speak to IL but in PA where I hunt deer it is 110% legal to carry a concealed handgun on your person with a valid carry permit while you are archery deer hunting. Leaving a gun locked up in the truck? I can’t see how that would even remotely be an issue, although leave it up to the possum patrol to make it one. |

It is explicitly legal to carry concealed while bowhunting in WI as well, I do it all the time. CCW is also allowed while shining because they changed the law to define pistols separately from long guns. Of course, the DNR agent you deal with could decide to be a pain...so ymmv, however, I'm confident that legally speaking you're OK both having a rifle in your vehicle while bow hunting and carrying concealed while bow hunting in Wisconsin. |
