Everybody has one or three of these, right? Ummm...I didn't. I really didn't even think of it until I was getting my Ember BioMass oven; Attached File And I thought, why don't I have a simple stove that also uses these fire pucks, or whatever they call them. After all, I bought a few of them. Attached File It IS compact and lightweight. Attached File It folds...are you good at Jenga? You have to be good at Jenga and Non-Euclidian geometry to put this thing together. Attached File But once together, a canned heat snuggles in there just fine. Nice that it's usable indoors, unlike most of the propane camp stoves I've seen. Attached File Will i use this? Most likely not, unless the power goes out for a serious amount of time, but it was cheap...and oddly enough, quite well built despite being cheap. Or should I just say, "inexpensive"...nice to have around. Yeah, you guys know all about these things, but it's new to me. |

Biomass oven is nice, I have enough dry wood around my yard (a green thumb I lack), My backup is a Coleman folding oven that sits on my white gas/unladed gas camping stove, with a square pizza stone for the bottom, to help maintain a steady temperature. Camping oven |
Think of how stupid the average person is and realize half of them are stupider than that.

I haven’t used my Ember lately-it stays up in my cabin. I’ve come to prefer starting it with sticks and twigs in the pan with charcoal in the hopper. Sticks and twigs in the hopper definitely gets hotter and gets there faster, but the charcoal is much easier to manage. Don’t close the rear vent off completely or you’ll end up smoking the oven chamber and ruining your food when you damper down the temperature. The liquid/canned fuel is really convenient, but it burns thru a lot of it and it’s kind of a pain to manage…. Get it started and up to temperature with two cans, cap one and remove it, run it on one can, but the temperature is so high in there that it boils the fuel and runs so hot you end up going thru almost a full can in two batches of cookies. |
Never make another person a priority when they merely see you as an option...
