| My friend is looking at installing a diesel heater in his RV- anyone done this? I've seen some YT vids showing various ways to pipe it in from the outside- but there has to be some heat loss in doing that I would think. |

I've installed one in my Scamp back in spring last year a 2K model. The propane one had several downsides, loud, used a lot of power and fuel along with failed control board. It's the second one (5K) I've installed / used, first in my cabin 12.6' x 26' that heated it last winter and so far this winter. I use about a gallon of off-road diesel a day in the cabin on a cold day. 20°F. As a possible "good plan" is if you are going with a budget one is buy 2 of the same, or a set of spare parts for it. Then you will not need them. Last year I did multiple changes to my Scamp, diesel heater, tank less water heater, replace axle, and general repairs. Full-timer with it for over a decade. |
