Mods, I accidentally posted this in GD feel free to delete that post. This meant to be in outdoors area.

I am a huge musky fisherman. I spend a lot of time on the water. Over 10 years ago I had the best weekend of my life on the water. My grandparents had a house a little further north of me that was on a lake that has some of the best musky, northern, and bass fishing I have ever seen.

First picture was of a fish I caught on a suspended weed bed on a mepps musky killer. It was 47.5 inches long and hit right by the boat.

Second picture is another musky I caught the same weekend out on the same spot. Forgot the camera so I had to come back to the dock and get a photo taken before releasing it when wading along the shoreline. Also caught on a mepps musky killer. This one was 48.25 inches.

That same weekend I caught 3 more under 40 inches. I musky fish a lot every year and have never had as a good of time out on the water as that weekend. I have been musky fishing since I was 10 and never had such an active 3 days.

I am getting excited to get back out on the water.

Post up your big fish pics!

Dec. 8th 2018 Lake Taneycomo, Branson MO

32in long 20lb Brown Trout caught on a hand crafted custom jerk bait.  Been my biggest freshwater trout so far.  She was released as well.  Had a replica mount made.Attachment Attached File

My biggest fishing accomplishment so far.  I've caught bigger catfish, but nothing comes close to wade fishing at night hunting big browns.

Hooked the cat above in the back and was reaching for his mouth and he slipped out my hand and the treble hook caught me(~2 seconds after my wife got that pic) as he slipped back into the water.

17"er smallie, they don't get all that big here. But this fella put up quite the fight, the reason I won't go lower than 10lb test anymore.

Largest strictly freshwater fish. Caught her in a canoe in a pond. It was third cast in the morning on a topwater plug. We weren't leaving that early so i put it on a stringer and it pulled that canoe with me and a buddy in it for bit before she finally died.

Snook will swim up the river and live and spawn in freshwater.  I've seen snook in Lake Okeechobee.  I caught this one in the river right where it connects to Lake Okeechobee.  It is 100% freshwater and not uncommon to catch one this size

Biggest smallie was 5.7lbs on the Delaware river , NJ.  For this area, that is an absolute unit.   I’ve been guiding the Delaware river for smallies for 25 years and have only seen one fish bigger than that at 6 lbs even.

Just yesterday, kayak fishing and this guy damned near flipped me. Was a helluva fight since I was on my ultralight; that 4# test certainly passed this test!

I’ve never caught anything abnormally big. Like big for the species.

I’ve caught lake trout on a charter, but the biggest was probably steelhead during a run. I’d just bought a rod/reel on clearance. It was a Quantum that was discontinued because the arm on the reel had some pads or something that they apparently cut too deep into material to put in, making it a weak point and the reel would break off. Anyway, my buddy said let’s snag some fish (I mean, try to catch them with spawn sacks). The Quantum was a medium action rod/reel (3000 size) and I’d put 20# braid on it.

Hooked into a steelhead and fought it up and down the river for 15 minutes. Felt like Bugs Bunny in the movie theater going past people “excuse me, pardon me, pardon me, excuse me”. Anyway, finally landed it. it was clearly already on its way to dying…wasn’t a healthy looking fish. My guess is somewhere around 25 pounds. Nothing extraordinary. The reel made it. Actually still have it. Only replaced it a year ago cuz my ma closed the boat engine cover on the rod. Used it as an excuse to buy a whole new combo.
