I have been on a post-apocalyptic audiobook kick for several months. These two series by the same author, were by far the most enjoyable. PG-13, no sex, and little if any bad language. The two series are not how to books, mainly action and suspense. If there is anyone you want to nudge towards prepping, try to get them to listen. If they do, they will definitely want to stock up on, at the minimum, shelf stable food and firearms, if not turn them into a full blown prepper. Other than the events, the two series are not doom and gloom. Book one of each series. I enjoyed this one: and this one: For some post-apoc humor, I liked this one too: I tried "The Trackers" series, didn't finish it- which is very rare for me. |

Stupid and really irresponsible. And whoever read the damn thing, could really stop making every sentence sound like a question.. "John walked into the room? Joanna said hi?..." if there was floating punctuation this would be how it reads. I know the 20 year olds started that fade a decade back, but it's stupid and needs to end. |

I'm hooked on these books I don't know why, but the Cleaver family does the apocalypse is drawing me into listening to all of it also, despite every crazy thing they do or don't do, the annoying kids and the narrator making every damn thing sound like a question... |

The Mitch Rapp series itself isn't post-apocalyptic but if you're into Tom Clancy-esque political thriller novels then Total Power by Vince Flynn / Kyle Mills is an interesting read. It's not PG-13 though for language and violence. |

I'm just wrapping up this trilogy and it was very well done: |
| I'm a big fan of audiobooks, especially since I spend so much time on the road for work. That said, a bad narrator can completely ruin an otherwise great book. Lately, I’ve found myself choosing books based more on who’s narrating them than who wrote them. |

The duck and cover books were pretty entertaining. Definitely a good break from your traditional "inherited a bunker from a millionaire uncle", "office dude saves the subdivision" or " living gun commercial guy walks home" type books. |
