Went out last night for a quick hunt. I played a few howls and yips, and a couple minutes later, had one coming on a run from about 800 yards out. I hit record on my scope, and realized I forgot to put the memory card back in after my last hunt. So I held my scanner up while I was looking through my scope. He stopped at 263 yards and dropped at the shot. Sorry for the crappy video. I actually missed recording the shot, but you can see the flash. I threw him in the back of the truck and headed home. Near my house, there is a field where I have occasionally seen a coyote, but he won't respond to calling, so I usually scan it from the road on my way home. Last night, I was driving by, and as I scanned, I noticed a coyote running along side my truck about 5-10 yards off the road. I started recording and kept driving. He was downwind of my truck. I was hoping he would run out into the field, and I could get out and get my gun setup and into the field for a shot. He turned and went the opposite direction, and by the time I got turned around, he was out in the field, but by the time I got out, he was gone. It was kind of fun to watch him though. I wonder if he knew I could see him.  Running coyote |
