If both work, i'd judge it a good deal. The HT receiver covers more than just the 2M and 70CM bands. NOAA WX is on there, and some aircraft bands. If you don't have manual for it, get one. IIRC, the manual programming is a bit tricky. |

| They each fetch $100 used. Those are icons. Classic transceivers. The FT-2900 was my first amateur radio and I still have it. It was superseded by the FT-2980 which only recently got discontinued. Makes an excellent 2m transceiver for the shack or mobile as designed. Also good for manpacks due to it's MIL standard dust and water resistance. The FT-60 is also a classic and still available new. Both keepers IMO. |
