This may be a little late for some, but Minnesota took another step backwards, and their online bait registration system is now taking multiple days to recognize a license. Without that, you can not use the system. After fighting with it, I finally got a person from the MN DNR just now, and they said it can be 3 business days before the your license is even in their system. If you bought a license on Friday when baiting opened, it could be this Wednesday before it's in there. The lady even made sure to state all baits must be registered within 24 hours of placing them no matter what. I don't know what the hold up is, this online system has been there for as long as I can remember, and it has only become a problem this year. It's not a joke either, Minnesota conservation officers can be complete assholes even when it is 100% the state's fault. It's now too late in the day to get the paper form in the mail and have it dated today, so most of you have all technically broke the law. My suggestion is put todays date all over that thing, get it in the mailbox, and get it sent tonight. If you don't have a printer, I don't know, pray they don't find your bait and use the online system tomorrow if you can. Minnesota, I know your state is a shit show, but come on. If you can't register baits by phone, then at least get rid of the 24 hour requirement since you can't get a computer system to work. |

| At least India answers the damn phone. The MN DNR is the worst state I've ever dealt with when trying to answer questions. You better be prepared to be on hold for 30 minutes, and even then, half the time they tell you they have to contact someone else and will call you back... then they never call you back. |

Hopefully some more help for people for the first time filling out these forms. This was the first time I've ever filled one out, and I timed out on the DNR wait list before they closed, so no help from them as usual. The form as as fucked as their anything else in the state. Don't check the wrong box, the left box is the one to establish the site. I'm sure you know what county you are in, but finding the township and everything else kind of sucks. I can find nothing on the MN DNR website to help, and nothing on the form or on the bear hunting page mentions it at all. As best as I can tell you have to hunt down that county information yourself. I had to go to the counties I'm in websites, then search for the township maps. I was not able to find it with the basic map as it doesn't show the lakes and other natural features. Once you find the township that bait is in, you have to then search for that township to find it's number, as well as the township map. Once you find the township map you can find the range, as well as the section your bait is in. According to the sheet you MUST fill this info out, apparently the exact coordinates to the bait are not good enough. What a shit show. Enjoy the glitter coating you cocksuckers. |
