[Last Edit: Dave15]
Haven't been in two weeks.
One of my sons was off today too, and said he wanted to go fishing.

Tides were stupid high Friday and Saturday, moon and 50 mph east winds. Tide up 4'+ over normal high tide, lots of boats lifted off lifts.

Down most of the way now, but can see debris line where water was.

Cut gizzard shad and some chicken breast with garlic powder and strawberry jello mix.

They mostly wanted chicken, but both caught.
Couldn't catch any small enough to eat, lol.
Prefer 2-5# size for eating.

Landed 5 or 6 lost a few others..

Also had one rod rigged for carp.
Son fought a monster and it broke him off after a long fight, fresh 20# test.

I rerigged, and proceeded to let one, maybe 15 lb, get in a tree and break off.

Brackish, so barnacles waiting to cut line.

Anyway, beautiful sunny day, good fishing and good company

Sweet! Thrashing cats are a good time.

Rain/cold have everything shut down here.

We had 2-3" of rain Friday, east winds to 50, and a full moon. Tides were up 4 to 5 FEET over normal highs. I figured it washed a ton of edibles IN to the river and fish would be on the prowl.

Temps dropping hard tonight though, but typically November my best month for bluecats.
And stripers.

Surprised as well regarding your local weather.

A week of rain (previous week) coupled with overnight temps in the 20s here call for a change in game plan for me.

Hitting the river for smallies and pike this weekend hopefully.

Nice!

I typically have to drive 120-200+ miles to catch smallmouth.
Haven't done it in probably 10 years

My plan WAS to head for the mountains this very week, set some traps, hunt fall turkey, and catch a smallie or two.

Plans went sideways.

So catch a smallmouth for me!
