Hello all, I have been looking for a heavy duty cot to sleep in while camping. I am 55 and a bad back from spinal degenerative disease so I want something more akin to a bed than a cheap folding cot. I've been looking at a couple of cots, the REI Kingdom Co-op and the Cabelas Lounge cot. They appear to be the same cot but the Cabela's one adds a fourth leg. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with them or can reccomend something else. Thanks, Wayne |

I’m tall as a giraffes ass, so limited to these in king size. You need a good pad too, an inflatable is OK. King of the pads is the foam one, but it is huge rolled up. Attached File |

My wife used an REI Kingdom Cot (now named the Wonderland Comfort) for several years and really liked it. She used it probably 15 nights a year on Boy Scout campouts and family trips. Being able to adjust the head section was nice for just hanging out reading a book. The support finally gave out, and it sags a bit in the center. We still have it, and it gets used occasionally by our adult children. The feet are rough on tent floors so we put a Harbour Freight packing blanket down first. Cargo space has been a concern on our last few trips and we both have been using ONETIGRIS Supranubis Camping Cots with Invoker 3.15" inflatable mattress pads. The combo packs relatively small and fits in a rooftop cargo container. The REI cot folds in thirds but still takes up a lot of space. |

In a tent I use a Cabela's Big Outdoorsman cot with an Exped MegaMat on top. ETA: That's when car camping. |

I have a cabelas model, an Alps lightweight cot that's close to the ground, and a roll-a-cot. There is also disc o bunk. I don't think the cot matters near as much as the mattress. The 3 leg ones are better if you turn onto your side at night. I love my rollacot. It's easy to set up. But it moves a little bit when you turn. The cabelas one is heavy but nicest. I've only used the cabelas once on a camp trip. If I were going tomorrow I'd take the rollacot. And I would put an air mattress on top of it. |
