So my future father-in-law has always been a huge bass fisherman. Me, I haven't fished since I was like 10 (I'm 33). This is the 2nd time I've done any sort of actual fishing with him on a bass boat using real baits instead of balls of bread like I did when I was 10.
We ended up taking first place out of about 45 boats and splitting the $360 take. Total weight was 11.63 lbs of large mouth bass, limit was 4 fish but we only caught 3. Almost took "big fish" until the last group weighed in. I only have hand me down gear and I'm still learning all of the terms. We used spinner baits the whole morning, both with Oklahoma blades. I used a spinning reel just because the spinner bait happened to be on that rod/reel. It was fun and a good time, winning certainly helped in the end. Hopefully he keeps taking me out |
