My 14 year old killed another nice buck this year. Last year's deer he had mounted traditionally. This year he wants a Euro mount. Two ideas for a wall mount I've seen that I like is either a 16ga steel plate cut into the shape of Kentucky, or a wood plaque in the shape of Kentucky. This mount will likely hang in our basement bar area at least until he's old enough to get his own place. Anyone have any other neat ideas? And picture of the buck- Attached File |

I have mine mounted on big wood slices i got off Amazon or from hobby lobby or somewhere. They still have the bark on the edge and I threw a coat of some stain on them to darken them a bit. Tacked one of those brass jagged picture hanging things on the back for one of those brass picture hanging hook things into it and added another to the front and then some picture wire through some of the holes in the back of the skull and looped on the hanger Attached File Attached File |

Nice buck! I shot a deer on a property owned by extended family last year. There's an 80-year-old falling-down decrepit barn on it that's within sight of where the deer fell. My idea was to use wood from the barn for the backer board and a piece of the roof for a plaque that would include my name, date, location, gun, etc on it. Still need to press out a section of the roof flat for my buddy to do the engraving.   That circled board  Same piece:  |
